"Airionna!" She hears just as she's about to get into bed. She decided that a nap was something she needed because of the exhausting morning she had trying to make her presence unknown. She had just gotten Dan down for a nap after wrestling with him. He was a little restless because of the slight tummy ache he had but she finally managed to get him to sleep.
Her eyes were almost closed before she heard her name being called repeatedly by non other than Janay herself.
"Yes?" She yells back in response but not making any effort to leave her room. She hopes this time she doesn't have to get up because she's honestly tired.
"Can you come here for a second?" Her mom yells back and this ignites a long dramatic groan to escape her lips.
"Do I have to? You can't just text it to me?" She calls back expectantly. She somehow knew that this wasn't gonna be a texting type of conversation but she decided it was worth a try anyways.
"No, now bring your behind here!" She lets out a defeated sigh before slowly dragging her body out of her comfortable bed. She heads out of her room and immediately sees her mom seated in her office.
"Wassup?" She questions while walking in and closing the door behind her.
"How are you?" Her mom asks while spinning in her swivel chair. Airi rolls her eyes because she could tell that Janay was up to her usual antics that she did not feel like partaking in tonight.
"Ma, I know you ain't call me in here to see how I was?"
"Girl who you talking to? You ain't too old to get a whooping and you know that."
"I know mom, but I'm tired. I was just about to go to sleep when you called me." Airi whines as she plops down in the chair right in front of her mom's desk. She crosses her arms dramatically and pokes her bottom lip out in a pout.
"You need to fix your face cause you is ugly." Janay laughs out as she looks at her disgruntled daughter. She and Airi have a sort of best friend relationship rather than the usual mother/daughter.
"And it's 12 in the afternoon why you in bed anyways?" Janay questions with eyebrows raised.
"Maaaaaaa." She whines again ready for her mom to tell her whatever it is she needs to so she can get back into bed.
"Girl hush. Stop all that whining." Janay rolls her eyes at the baby she raised.
"Anyways, I need you to tell everybody we're having a meeting tomorrow and to be here at 6pm no later."
A dumbfounded look replaces the pout on her face as she stares back at her mom trying to process what was said. She somehow couldn't find any words to say. She wants to tell her mom that tomorrow is not a good time to schedule a meeting with the whole entire squad for one reason alone. She would definitely have to see him. There was not one doubt in her mind that she wouldn't. He would be here, right here in her house.
"To-tomorrow?"
"Yes tomorrow Airionna, now get to calling." Janay says as she dismisses her.
After giving her another look she slowly gets up and heads back to her room. Her mind racing with so many different things.
As soon as she makes it to her room she's pacing up and down the place.
"Shoot. Shoot." She whispers to herself while tangling her hands in her disheveled hair. This could not be happening to her right now. What is she going to do?! She's not ready to see him. She shouldn't be this scared to see a guy she considers her brother and she absolutely hates the way she's behaving. How the hell did she expect to be in a room with the guy if she couldn't even say his name in private?
