I'm sorry it's been so long
"I just want to go to the meadow. The one with the purple flowers," She whispered to me, "the one we played in as kids."
"I know..." I tried my best to smile at her.
"I want to go swim in the little creek, and play hide and seek in the woods... I want to go back to the cabin where we first met.." The tears that had been collecting in her eyes spilled down her dark cheeks. They landed on her pillow and made a small dark spot.

It was still dark outside when we arrived. I understand it was the middle of winter, but it was also 10am and there was no sign of the sun. A thick layer of snow covered everything, from the cabin to the trees and everything in between.
I had carpooled with my good friend Aaron, who had been invited by his friend Alex, who had been invited by his friend John, who had been invited by the daughter, Angelica, who's dad owns the cabin. It was kinda confusing and I had to be reminded many times.
Aaron and I were not the first ones to arrive, luckily. Angelica and her two sisters, Eliza and Peggy, were already inside, and quickly came out to help us with our bags.
I didn't pay much attention to Eliza and Peggy, but I certainly did take a long look at Angelica. Something about her just made me like her more. An almost love at first sight kind of deal.
As the two weeks we were staying there went by, Angelica and I got to know each other more, and I quickly learned that this was a love at first sight kind of deal.

"Come on Y/n! Let's gooo!" I laughed as Angelica drew out the last word. She seemed so full of energy today. I blamed it on the weather. We had been blessed with a warm spring day.
"I'm coming, I'm coming!" I called down to her. I was still trying to get my hair to stay in place.
Turns out my efforts where all for nothing, the small meadow had a bit of wind.
We sat in the middle of the grassy area, flowers surrounded us on all sides. I'm not sure how long we stayed there, but dusk was coming by the time we left. The wind had picked up, the small purple flowers took to the sky and swirled around us as we left.

It was pouring when we got back. All throughout the night I would ask Angelica if we could go swim in the creek. I loved playing in the rain.
She said yes around the 100th time.

"We can go back... I promise, my love," I kissed her cheek, the salty taste of her tears left me sadder than before.
"Thank you, Y/n.." Angelica had closed her eyes, the tears had stopped and I soon knew her breathing would as well.

The sky was a pale blue, the grass a bright green. The contrast hurt my eyes.
I missed this place. It had been year since I've come back to these fields, and I was still unsure of how I got here.
I feel asleep in my bed, I remember my family and some old friends standing around me, I'm not sure why. They seemed sad.
But I was happy. The air smelled sweet, and there was something else there, something I could barely remember, but I know I knew it from somewhere.
A pair of arms snaked around my waist, and the smell rushed in all at once.
My love, Angelica.
I understood why I was here. It was our time to be together again.
