Chapter Thirteen - Moon

"What do you mean?" Taeyong seems to be shocked by my response.

I pull him against me tighter and kiss the top of his head again before speaking.

"Yuta and I had sex but only once. He fucked me."

"So that was your first-" He begins but I cut him off to inform him of the correct information.

"He isn't the only person that I've slept with."

The guard seems shocked but he just goes with it, not wanting to press for further information as to who it was.

My phone begins to ring. Knowing that I should be at the office, I unhappily let go of Taeyong and grab my phone.

"Sir you need to return immediately" The receptionist sounds worried.

"What is it?" I ask her.

"A small girl has showed up begging to see you. She's being really stubborn."

"Her name?"

"Moon Hyeri."

I hang up the phone and get out of the bed. Taeyong is quick to get up as well, getting dressed alongside me without asking questions.

He pauses when he realises that his shirt has been ripped so he cannot wear it.

Silently I grab a spare shirt from the closet and give it to him. He slips into it and I just smirk as I see how small he looks in the shirt which is too big for him.

He's cute.

"What happened?" He asks me as we make our way to the office.

"The daughter of my friend has showed up at my office again. She keeps running away from her parents to see me."

Taeyong seems confused by this so I continue to explain.

"Don't get me wrong, her parents aren't abusive or anything. It's just that her father works a lot. His job requires him to travel a lot and he's rarely home. Because of this he earns enough so the mother works from home. When Hyeri is missing her dad she comes and sees me. I'm like her second father in her eyes."

I don't check to see if the guard understands better as we enter the building.

We head straight to the elevator and soon arrive on the right floor.

"Daddy!" The small girl cries with joy as I step out. I kneel down and wrap my arms around her as she does her best to wrap her small arms around me.

"Hyeri you ran away again" I exclaim and she sniffs as I pull away, my hands on her shoulders.

"Dad has been gone for two weeks. I want him to come home" The six year old cries.

Gently I take her hand and lead her to my office, Taeyong one step behind.

"You can't keep doing this. Your mother gets so stressed and she can get sick from this stress" I tell her and she frowns.

"I want my dad" She begins to sob.

Taeyong looks at me briefly before slowly walking over to crouch beside her.

"Hi, my name is Taeyong" He introduces himself.

"Tae...Yong?" Hyeri repeats his name in between sobs and he nods in confirmation.

"My dad used to be away a lot. He always went on business trips. His excuse was that he kept a roof over our heads and kept food on our table. In my house there was my mother, my sister and I so there were quite a few mouths to feed. We all hated it when he wasn't there. I was always left with the responsibility of being the man of the house when he was gone."

I stop what I'm doing as I begin to hear what the guard says. Hesitating, I press send on the message to Ara, Hyeri's mother.

"I hated it. I thought his excuse was stupid and he had no reason to be away from us so often. Especially because my sister had depression. He couldn't even be there for her. The bastard couldn't even be there to watch as his daughter began to deteriorate. It wasn't until last year that he finally retired and now spends most of his time with my mother. He only retired as my sister had died. He returned because he realises the mistake he had been making for all of his life."

I see tears threading to spill on Taeyong's features but he just blinks them away.

Just as I go to interrupt, the door butts open and Ara rushes inside.

"Moon Hyeri ah" She yells and wraps her arms around her daughter whose crying has calmed down.

"I'm so sorry Jaehyun. Thank you for messaging me. I'll take her home and keep my eye on her."

"Where's Taeil this time?" I question her as she goes to leave. She frowns slightly but still responds.

"He's gone to London. He comes back next week."

I just nod and she bows before leaving with Hyeri holding her hand.

Taeyong remains crouched and I see the tears have started to stream down his cheeks.

I walk over to him and help him stand on his two feet once more.

"I was going to come out with some kind of point but I lost it. I'm sorry. I-I got overwhelmed and I—"

Silencing him, I pull him into my warm embrace.

"It's okay."

He doesn't cry but he holds onto me tightly and seems to savour the felling of being held.

After a mere few minutes, he steps away and moves to stand by the door.

"You have work to do, don't let me stop you" He states.

Nodding slowly, I head to the desk and sit behind it.

I turn on the computer and am shocked at what shows up in my emails.

Quickly, I push myself away from the table and rush out of the office and into the foyer of the floor.

"Go to the news" I instruct the receptionist, gesturing to the TV on the wall.

Taeyong runs out to stop beside me and he turns to face the screen. I feel all colour draining from my face as I see the headlines.

"Jung Nara who is known as Jung Jaehyun's sister has claimed that her father payed someone to attack and rape her. Authorities are yet to get a statement from Mr Jung about the claims. Jaehyun will be questioned as her brother. The police have told us that if she is lying she will have to pay an ugly sum of money and spend time in prison for accusing and possibly damaging Mr Jung's image."
