Chapter Twenty-Two - Payed

Taeyong was very strict with his instructions to Jaehyun. He knew that a significant amount of press would be outside upon their arrival.

He didn't want his boss to freak out and accidentally blurt something to them or be overwhelmed by them.

Telling Jaehyun to stick by his side and keep his head down, walking swiftly until they are inside is what he told him to do.

Of course the guard has never had to keep someone away from the press.

He has just seen this on TV and is hoping it will work.

As the car pulls up at the courts, Jaehyun scratches the back of his neck. He is visibly nervous.

"Hey" Taeyong draws the distracted CEO's attention to himself.

"It's going to be fine. Sicheng is a great lawyer."

"I know. But so is Jungwoo. Sicheng looked really scared when he saw that blue haired guy. He said it himself, they both haven't lost before." Jaehyun states.

Taeyong unbuckles his seat belt and leans over the console to kiss his boyfriend briefly.

"Well unfortunately Jungwoo is going to get a cup filled with the losers taste this time."

"How can you be so sure?" Jaehyun's features are filled with doubt and this scares Taeyong.

His boss was so sure that they'd easily get through this. Yet the past couple of days he has been acting out of character.

He hasn't been himself and it's been really worrying the guard.

"Because you are Jung Jaehyun. The one I know will do anything to protect those who he loves. So that is why I know for sure that we will win this case."

Jaehyun smiles sadly and raises his hand to caress the guard's cheek.

"I wish I could believe that too."

Taeyong takes a deep breath before opening the car door.

"Isn't that Jaehyun's bodyguard?!" A news reporter yells out. Suddenly all of the gathered people with cameras and those with microphones huddle around Taeyong and the car.

He straightens his tie and calls for everyone to step back as he opens the door for Jaehyun to get out of the car.

"Jaehyun! How does it feel to be going into to trial?!"

"Jaehyun are you going to win?!"

"How's your sister?!"

"Is it true that her claims are false?!"

The questions continue to come out at rapid speeds. Jaehyun keeps his head low as he was instructed and sticks close to Taeyong's side.

After a lot of pushing and barging, the guard manages to safely get Jaehyun inside without him answering any questions.

Yuta and Johnny stand in the foyer and immediately walk over as they see Taeyong and Jaehyun.

Jaehyun hugs Johnny and then goes to hug Yuta. Taeyong feels a sharp pang of jealousy as he sees the ex pair embrace.

But seeing how genuinely scared Jaehyun is, he knows that this is what is holding him together right now.

Yuta seems to know this as well as his expression is just filled with sorrow as he holds his ex.
