Chapter 10: Death, Despair, Defeat

Rob woke up to his dog licking his face it had been a week later and he was still in severe pain and found a bottle of water at his bed side. Rob slowly sits up and looks around he sees all of his friends "Damn am i in a fucking morgue" Rob says. "sit down" Oliver says seeing Rob start to get up and move around "good to see you too old friend, How are you " Rob replies laughing " How am I How are you. Jared says you need to rest. come on just lay back down" Oliver almost pleading with Rob. "Jared doesn't know shit about me, I've been gone for almost a fucking year and nobody had even noticed. All I need is a bottle of booze and i'll be fine" Rob says. Oliver could hear the hurt in his voice "It's alright you're safe now" Oliver says as he puts his hand on Rob's shoulder "Don't touch me" Rob says as he pushes Olivers hand off his shoulder. Rob gets up and walks back to the manor going to what used to be his room, shadow(his dog) following him.

Hours have passed and Rob had finally came down stairs he was now raiding Jared's fridge he made two sandwiches grabbed a bag of chips and a few water bottles and went back to his room. It went on like that for days until Rob started grabbing the whiskey bottles everyday he would do the same thing but instead of two water bottles he would grab one water and a glass bottle of whiskey. Weeks had gone by and Jared decided to try to talk to Rob he knocked on the door then spoke "Hey, we need to talk" there was no answer, Jared put his ear up to the door but all he heard was a glass bottle break. "Whatever" Jared says to himself and walks away, Rob opens the door and inside of his room he was doing target practice with those glass bottles making sure he was ready for the next big fight, using the bow and quiver given to him by Jared. Rob heard a loud scream from down stairs, it was tabby Rob rushed down stairs and before he reached the end of the stairs he stopped in his tracks he heard voices first Olivers "just let her go" he said then Jared's "you'll never get away with this". Rob knocked back an arrow "let her go" Rob demanded. "No" the highly trained thug said Rob just laughed and said "ok I warned you" Rob whistles and Shadow comes running down the stairs. Stopping at Robs side "last chance" Rob says smiling, this man had never seen a dog before they were rare around here, the man let Tabby go and began to run out the door. Rob just looks to Shadows and says "He's yours if you want him" Shadow barks and goes from completely still to a dead sprint in a matter of seconds. The thug couldn't even reach the door before he was on the ground with the dog latched to his balls and biting down harder, the thug tried to hit shadow but the dog went back to Robs side where Rob still had the arrow ready. "look i'm sorry i'll just leave and it will be like i was never here" the thug said. Rob just lets out a good laugh and shakes his head and Rob releases his arrow and in a split second, hitting the man in the leg. Rob walks over to the man and picks him up off the ground but the man had passed out from the pain. Jared walks up to Rob who was raising his fist about to beat the unconscious man, he grabbed Rob's wrist "let him go its over i'll take him out of here" Jared said "Don't fuckin touch me" Rob said as he dropped the man and yanked himself out of Jared's grip. Rob walked away and Jared picked up the man and slung him over his shoulder carrying him over to the batwing and tossed him in. "Jeans, i'm heading into town do something about Rob's attitude, he better be sorry by the time i get back" Jared says to Jeans who was just getting up. Jared flew out the cave leaving his unstable and hurt friends alone, which he figured was a bad idea. Rob goes back to his room slamming the door "Fuck you guys" he mutters to himself. Rob kneels down and says to Shadow "i'll be back in a bit I have to go pick some things up" as he stands back up he grabs his gear and heads over to the window opens it and leaves Wayne Manor.

Several hours later around seven o'clock Rob returns, he has a backpack full of gifts Jean's was standing there "where the fuck have you been" he asks "good to see you too old friend" Rob says with a smile on his face. Shadow approaches Rob wagging her tail, Rob kneels down and digs inside his backpack and pulls out a tennis ball "I told you id be back" he says patting her on the head. Rob stands up and says to Jean's "come on man I got some gifts" then the three of them headed downstairs to wait for Jared.
