Not My Car!

I sit on my bed, getting in some reading before school starts. I hear someone stomp down the hallway then into my room. I quickly shut my book and look up. Grayson begins to look around my room, around my dresser, under papers. "Umm hello, a little privacy here?" I look up at him.

"Sorry, did you happen to take my charger?" Grayson stops searching and looks up at me.

"Oh yeah, here. Sorry." I get up and pull the charger out of the outlet by my vanity. Before I hand it to him, I look up at him. "Oh yeah, I forgot to mention. I invited Jughead for breakfast this morning."

"Are you serious?" He stares at me blankly. I nod and smile at him, I know he'll kill me after the fact. He still has a grudge against the serpents and anyone associated with them.  Judging from my smile he sighs and snatched the charger out of my hand. He storms out my room and I follow behind him into the kitchen. I lay out strawberries and begin to cut them up. I start the waffles by pulling the waffle maker that hasn't been used in ages. Mom would use it every Saturday for breakfast. It was a tradition, almost. Once I finished, I set out the table and call for the boys to eat. We almost never sit down at the table anymore. We're a tv dinner and trays kind of family. Soon enough, I hear a faint knock at the door. Grayson quickly runs over and beats me to the punch. I glare at him before he opens the door.

"Jughead, hi!" He smiles. He is acting so fake towards him, but why?

"Hello, Grayson." Jughead says awkwardly. Grayson opens the door a little more to give him space to walk inside. I take a seat at the table and wait for everyone else. I then see josh about to walk out the door, but stops when he sees Jughead. "Oh, I have to be here for this!" He laughs then runs over to the table.

We all begin to eat in silence, until Grayson breaks the silence. "So Jughead, how's your dad doing?" He snickers. This whole event has already gone to shit.

"I think I'm chocking on the amount of testosterone in here." I say but Grayson then hushes me.

"Oh, he's doing okay." Jughead tries to dodge the question.

"Would you remind me, what does your dad do for work?" Grayson props his head up on his hands and pretends to look interested.

"Well, at the moment he is unemployed. Before he was working at Andrews Constructions." Jughead responds, taking a sip of his orange juice. This was a horrible idea.

"What made him quit... or did he get fired?" Grayson presses. I could tell Jughead was getting uncomfortable. Josh just sat there like an idiot, he was just here for the drama.

"Okay! Grayson, isn't it about time you leave? You're going to be late, here I'll get you your coat." I quickly get up and walk over to the coat rack and bring him is jacket. I take his plate off the table and put it in the sink. He realizes what I'm doing and decided to simply get up and leave. Before he leaves, Grayson yells out something to me.

"And be sure that Jones boy helps clean up." I then hear the door slam shut. After the reassuring sound, I turn to Josh.

"Don't you have some football crap to do?" I ask.

"Nope not today." He says, as he leans back into his seat and props his feet up on the table. He has a stupid smile plastered on his face, I wanted to smack it off at that moment. I glare at him and he quickly gets up and gets his stuff. "Fine fine, have you're stupid privacy with, lover boy." He mutters. I then hear door close shut and a sigh in relief.
