Screwin'
My eyes slowly open and I see the grey painted walls of Jughead's room. So Last night definitely wasn't a dream. I sit up and begin to look around the room. Nothing has seemed to change from last night. I get out of bed and walk out into the kitchen to see Jughead watching tv on the couch. He turns to look at me and smiles.
"Good morning." I smile and wave. I walk over to him and sit in the recliner across from the couch.
"Took you long enough to get up." He snickered. He turned his attention back to the tv after taking a long look at me.
"What can I say? I like to sleep." I say then sit back in my seat.
"Maybe a little too much. I'll never forget when you slept over at the drive-in. If I didn't wake you up, you probably would've slept through the demolition." He laughed. Silence fell between us before there was a knock at the door. Jughead I stare at each other before he gets up to go get it.
"Stay here." He says sternly, before going out the door and slamming the door behind him.
I assumed it wasn't anything big, probably just one of his serpent friends. Until I started hearing people yelling outside. I contemplated going outside but I decided enough was enough. I quietly open the door and see Archie and Jughead screaming at each other.
"Jughead?" I ask. They both turn towards me and both of their faces were in complete shock.
"What the fuck?" Archie says and turns back to Jughead.
"Archie it's not what it looks like." He says.
"What it looks like? I'll tell you what it looks like. You're banging another girl and you're hiding your secret gang life from Betty. I'm not covering for you anymore. But I guess she doesn't need to know now. She saw where you were headed and she knew, you couldn't be with them or with her. And come on man, you know it too." Archie says. Silence fell between the boys. Jughead looked so hurt. He stared hard at the ground and wiped his nose.
"Tell Betty I got the message." He said. Archie walked past him and bumped shoulders with him. He looked back up to me and marched over. He snatched my arm and yanked me into the house.
"I thought I told you to stay inside," Jughead said, clearly raged.
"Jughead, you're hurting me!" I cried. He let go of my arm and angrily paced the room a few times. He then sat on the couch and buried his face in his hands. I walked over and kneeled in front of him. I tried to reassure him by placing a hang on his shoulder.
"What happened?" I asked.
"Get out," he said quietly.
"What?" I furrowed my brows together. He quickly stood up and I followed.
"I said get out," he yelled. He was so angry, he wasn't even the same person anymore. He threw his beanie on the ground and just stared at me with nothing but hatred in his eyes.
"Okay," I said quietly. I quickly gathered my things and put my shoes on. I walked out of the house and down the street. I waited at the end of the road. I'm not really sure where to go. It was too far of a walk to walk home and I couldn't explain to my brothers why I was on the south side. I stay at the end of the road before decided to walk. But right after I walkout, a car stops next to me. I stood and stared at the car. The window slowly rolls down and reveals the friendly pink-haired girl from Southside High.
"What are you doing around these parts, Northsider?" She teased.
"You look lost. Get in, I'll give you a ride." She smiled. I walked around and got into the passenger side. She slowly pulled away from the trailer park and into a main road.
"No, but really, what are you doing out here?" She asked, sounding concerned.
"It's complicated, Jughead kicked me out." I sighed and leaned back in my seat.
"No way, what happened?" She questioned.
"Something happened with Betty, I guess. Archie came over yelling at him and he thought we were messing around. But I swear nothing happened." I sighed in frustration. When I say I never wanted to take Jughead from Betty, I meant it. I feel really guilty about that whole ordeal.
"I believe you... What, were you staying thereafter the whole Bulldogs and Serpent fight?" She snickered.
"You were there?" I eyed her suspiciously.
"No, but Sweetpea told me about it. He told me some psycho brought a gun." She said.
"I was that psycho, that's why I had to leave," I exclaimed.
"Did you hear about the boy that got stabbed?"
"Oh my god, Dilton?" It all just hit me at once. I didn't even realize it. Maybe it was best if I shot the gun, he could've been killed.
"Yeah, crazy stuff. Now, where am I headed?" She brushed off what she just said and tried to continue the conversation.
"It's the next left, on Charlotte Spur." I pointed to the road. She pulls into the parking lot and parks in front of my building.
"Thank you so much, Toni." I smile and give her a hug.
"Anytime, stay safe out there." She smiled. I get out of the car and walk up the stairs.
What a sweet girl.
