Jinae
After I bang my head probably three times, as I'm about to go for a fourth, I feel something soft instead of the hard dashboard. I lift my head up and turn to face him. Hoseok has his mask on his chin and a concerned look etched across his face.
"Don't do that to yourself," he says, his expression staying that of concern. I feel my cheeks begin to flush and I look down at my hands.
"I'm sorry, Hoseok-ssi," I mumble. He takes his hand and tilts my face up to look him in the eye.
"Don't be sorry," he says, giving me a sweet smile. "Just don't hurt that pretty head of yours." He ruffles my hair and puts his mask over his mouth. "Ready?"
I nod and we both exit the car. Just before we start walking toward the doors, Hoseok stops and looks in his backseat again. This time he grabs a hat and pulls it down far over his face. I smile at him and we start walking toward the doors where the other guys are.
"Finally," the one that looks the oldest says. Hoseok gives an apologetic look to him and we all go inside, splitting off into separate groups.
I follow Misun and Soyoung wherever they go, not really picking anything for myself. I don't have any money and Daehyun already bought me tea yesterday, so I can't ask him to buy me more stuff, and I haven't known everyone else long enough to ask them.
Eventually Misun asks me why I haven't picked anything out for lunch and snacks for while we're at the dance studio, so I explain that I don't have any money yet. She offers to buy me snacks and I decline, but she keeps insisting, so I cave in.
She tells me to go find some snacks and something that I can have for lunch, so I venture off in another direction to find something. I go off and pick up a package of dried seaweed, some Pocky, and some tteokbokki crackers. I walk back to Misun and tell her to pick out a lunch for me, so she disappears and comes back a few minutes later.
She keeps hiding what she picked out for me, so I give up trying to peek at what it is. We go straight to the checkout and wait outside the doors for the boys to come out. I swear it takes close to twenty minutes after we go outside for the boys to finally emerge from the doors.
Everybody talks for a little while, every second passing their volume getting louder to talk over each other. Only a few minutes pass before I can't stand the noise. I clear my throat to try to get their attention, but nobody seems to hear me except Misun. She gives me an apologetic smile and tries to stop them from talking so loudly, but can't.
"Yah!" I yell over all of them. Each of them stop mid-sentence, their mouths hanging open. In turn, each of them move to face me and their eyes widen when they see me. I can see why; I'm standing behind everyone with my eyes squeezed shut and my fists clenched so hard that my fingernails are starting to dig into my palms. "Aish."
"You guys are making her uncomfortable!" Misun half shouts at them.
I open my eyes and look at each of them. Every time I look in one of their eyes, they look down at their feet. Daehyun eventually walks up to me and asks if I'm okay. I whisper back that it's just the anxiety from being around so many new people, not to mention how many of them there are. Daehyun seems to understand, so he gives me a small side hug and goes back to the boys.
"I'm sorry, Jinae-ssi," Soyoung says softly, walking over to me.
"I'm fine," I say, "I just... it's just hard being around so many people, you know?" I look at Soyoung and she nods.
"I know exactly what you mean," she says. Then she turns to the boys and asks, "Where are we going next? Park or studio?"
The boys all perk up and look at one another. It's like their speaking to each other just with looks, but somehow understanding exactly what they each are saying. I know girls do that all the time, but I didn't think they would be able to with all their different personalities and different attitudes. But hey, I'm not one to say I'm never wrong.
As if they counted down together, all in unison they suddenly shout, "The studio!"
All the boys split off to go to their cars, but I'm left standing with Daehyun. I watch as everyone starts walking away. Before I realize it, I'm looking over to Hoseok and I see him stop a few feet away.
"Are you coming, Jinae?" he asks and I nod, looking at Daehyun. "You too, Daehyun?"
We both start walking toward Hoseok and I run past Daehyun to catch up to Hoseok while we walk to his car. I start talking to Hoseok while we drive to their studio and I notice that overall he's just a really happy person. Everybody has their moments, but he seems to be a generally happy person.
It doesn't take us too long to get to their studio; maybe about ten minutes. When we get to the building, Hoseok drives around to the back, the other cars following behind him. I'm assuming since he's technically famous he has to park around back so he isn't spotted by fans. He leads Daehyun and I inside through a door in the back and to an elevator. We go up six floors and beat everyone to their studio.
The room is honestly huge. One whole wall is lined with mirrors from floor to ceiling. There's a little fridge in one corner, probably for water, and a microwave next to it. There are mats to sit on stacked underneath a table and a huge speaker in another corner.
Everyone shuffles into the room and grabs mats. I'm still looking around before I see they all are on mats. I look at all of them and Misun stands up.
"So I got you some ramen for lunch," she tells me. I smile and thank her, but she has a mischievous look in her eyes. "But I got you the spiciest ramen they had."
