Very late, but also done.
Sorry about the long break.
I AM HERE WITH YOUR FIC THAT
WENT MISSING.

Also I just noticed in one of my Daniel x readers; I have a lot of Slytherin readers ?? 😂 Hi, Hufflepuff here also one of your favorite people, you have no right to refuse this. 💁🏽‍♀️

You didn't know what to make of Gavin. You genuinely had no opinion on his attitude, it didn't affect you and you had no reason to care.

That is until he gave you a reason to care. Ever since Connor was given the assignment with Hank on hunting deviants, he has been very bitter.

You were having a cup of coffee (or preferred drink, I personally like coffee UwU) when he and a fellow female cop also sat down at a table, it seemed like they were only going to chat.

Connor then entered as well, you could feel the change of atmosphere when he came in. Suddenly the air was very tense and Gavin was glaring at Connor who had decided to sit with you, seemingly for no particular reason.

"Hey, Hey." You greeted with a soft smile. He seemed surprised for only a moment before he greeted back.

"Hello." It was a simple greeting, but you already knew who he was so there was no point in introductions from him and technically he could easily find out who you are.

It was a peaceful silence in the little table where you and him sat until Gavin made his way over.

"Is he bothering you?" You scoffed at the question.

"He's not, leave him alone." You stated firmly. He pursed his lips, he looked troubled. "You okay?" Although you were curt with him only five seconds ago, most humans deserve the luxury of having someone care about them.

"Yeah, I'm fine." Not only did he not look fine, but he just stood there as if waiting for something to happen.

"C'mon Gerald, confess your feelings." He glared at you, not only for the nickname, but also for pushing the subject. He then rolled his eyes and with a sigh began his confession.

"Do you think that I'm a bad person?" Your eyes widened for a second before looking down at your cup of coffee. That question wasn't very like him, it's not in his personality to ask such questions, but here he is asking you about your opinion on him.

"A little rude, but not bad at heart." Your eyes then meet his for a moment; you then decide to comfortably stare into your coffee cup again.

You both stopped speaking for quite a bit. You wanted to believe that it was because Connor kept glancing between you and Gavin, as if he was analyzing you both.

"Connor, do you need something?" You asked abruptly. He sat in thought for a moment before replying.

"No, but I assume you wish to be alone." He stares at you searching for confirmation to his statement.

"Please if you don't mind." Connor nods and gets up off the chair, "Thank you Connor!" He looked back and quickly nods once again before leaving the coffee room completely.

"Thanks." Gavin sighed, you knew he wasn't going to say anything. Not in front of you he wouldn't. "Y/n, we need to talk."

"If I've learned anything from most movies and books, that line is never a good thing." He laughed a bit at your answer before continuing to talk.

"It's not bad I swear."

"I'm not bringing you donuts you cliche of a cop." Last time you went to the shop he liked, it was so crowded and had to stand in line for over 40 minutes.

"Y/n. Stop assuming." He sees you nod then continues. "I'm gonna go off of the fact that you don't think I'm a bad person." He exhales sharply and quickly says his next words, "Will you go on a date with me?" His tone of voice got higher as he proceeded with the sentence, you could tell he was actually pretty nervous.

"That was very unexpected, a warning next time would be appreciated." He looked at you questioningly.

"I was supposed to warn you that I would ask you on a date?" You took a long sip of your coffee as you thought of his question.

"Okay so I made a dumb statement." You chuckled nervously, "I, Uh, agh..." your voice was caught between a groan and a sigh as you hid your face in your hands.

He found the way you act when embarrassed very endearing. Especially when he has seen you when you do your job in the interrogation room. Anyone could think your maybe cold, can't take a joke, never makes a mistake, but you are the complete opposite.

If anything you were a mellow person with a kind-hearted personality and to top it all off, you were pretty.

Wait a second...

He started thinking, did you say yes or no to the date? You both have been quiet for a bit now. He was so caught up in his thoughts that he didn't realize you were now sitting and staring at him too.

What kind of thoughts are you having about me, y/n?

He snapped out of his thoughts, "Y/n you never answered my question." He watched your facial expression shift to a surprised one before you then turned to your coffee that was now empty.

"Um..." You trailed off at a question that supposed to be a simple yes or no. You took a shaky breath then answered, "Yeah sure."

"Not the most enthusiastic response." You got slightly tense until you saw his smile and realized he was only kidding, then you could breathe properly.

"I enthusiastically say yeah sure to this date." You reply, "better?"

"By so much." You both laughed at the conversation you two were having.

"Are you free tomorrow?"

"Yes, I'm enthusiastically free." His smile widened at your response as he tried not to laugh.

"Great, I'll text you the details." Since you were co-workers and at times on the same cases, he already had your phone number and you had his.

"We should get going, we've been missing for like 30 minutes now." Gavin says.

"Time passes too quickly." You lazily get up from your chair and throw away your coffee cup.

"Our love will be timeless though." You stopped in your tracks and furrowed your brows as you your gaze met his.

"That was so- I can't," You cringed a bit, but then lightly laughed. "It was cute, I'll give you that."

"Good enough, my efforts should be acknowledged." You scoffed.

"See you later, idiot." He feigned to be hurt by your words.

"I'm very offended, but I'll let it go because you're beautiful." He chuckled, "See you later."

You two then parted ways, him to his desk and you went to yours.

Most of time, you could only think about the things that could happen on a date with Gavin.
