Tonya looked at the televisions that were on display through the big glass windows of the department store she was standing in front of. There were three of them, ranging from different sizes, all showing different programs. The one in the middle which was advertising the 32 inch television that the store was selling was showing a News Channel. She watched it as a reporter appeared on screen talking about a massive drug bust in a mansion in upstate New York. Tonya couldn't shake the feeling that Tamel was mixed up in that scenario.
Her son, Tamel, Jr.,who was holding her hand beside her, got her attention by saying, "Mommy, mommy, I'm hungry!"
Tonya looked down and informed him that they were leaving in just a minute to get something to eat.
Tonya was about to divert her eyes back to the screen she was watching when she heard someone call her name. Tonya looked and saw Cassandra walking up to her with Adonis tagging right behind her.
"Hey, Tee, what's up?" Cassandra smiled as Adonis got acquainted with his new friend, Tamel.
"Hey, girl, looking at this craziness," Tonya said pointing at the News program she was just watching on the inside televisions.
"Yeah, I know," Cassandra said. "You know if I knew any better, I would say I bet your crazy baby father is mixed up in all that foolishness."
"I was thinking the same thing," Tonya agreed,
Tonya had to admit Cassandra was right. In the short while that she knew Cassandra, she really took a liking to her. It was easy for her to talk to Casandra and after finding out what Tamel Richards alias MeloDrama had done to Cassandra's child's father, she immediately figured that Cassandra needed a friend as well. Tonya become very open with Cassandra which is something she never do especially when it came to her son's father but Tonya felt she could trust Cassandra.
They both had been through a lot and the healing process was now really beginning.
They both knew Tamel Richards despite all he did would eventually have to meet up with karma so they decided not to stress it.
"I'm hungry," Little Tamel repeated making Tonya shake her head and Cassandra laugh.
"Yeah, well I could eat too," Cassandra said and Adonis nodded his head as well.
"Well, I hope it has platters and appetizers because I'm famished," Cassandra and Tonya heard someone say behind them.
Samantha and her son, Michael, was walking up to them with a smile on her face as well.
"Hello, Samantha," Tonya greeted. "Hello, Michael."
Michael looked at Tonya like he was about to say something inappropriate but Samantha smacked him in the back of the head before he could even think of it.
"Miss Tonya spoke to you, you better reply back," Samantha warned her troublesome son. "And it better be a proper response because I will beat the holy hell out of you right here right now, do you understand me?"
Michael looked at his mother than back to Tonya. "Hello, Miss Tonya. Nice seeing you again.
Tonya smiled. She couldn't believe it. Samantha had changed a lot and Tonya could definitely see that change was affecting Michael.
The change came in the form of Samantha standing up for herself. Tonya was an inspiration in her making that change but the overall effort came from Samantha herself.
