Ella's POV

... Why don't I feel anything. This is one of the reasons why I don't like getting involved with strangers. I have always thought that kissing just anybody isn't romantic at all and I have just proved my theory right. There is no single attraction, desire, or anything in me towards John.

I want to feel the flip flop in my stomach as he leans in but none of that is happening. Call me a dreamer but No way I'm having him kiss me because I don't feel anything.

His lips almost finally touching mine but I still don't feel anything. I should stop it before I regret it later. I know I have to try to convince myself that I needed a new partner or anything of that nature but right now I know John is certainly not that person.
"No!" I whisper yell jerking my face away from him.

"I think you had a lot of the alcohol," I said moving my face away from his to create some distance between.

"No Ella, I'm perfectly fine. I'm not drunk. I want you." He said putting both his hands on my cheeks making me face him.
Want me? What am I some material? I mumbled under my breath.

"Too bad I don't want you. I'm sorry but I can't do this. Goodbye John." I yerk his hands away from my cheeks getting up from the chair I was occupying. I

"Is it because of your boss " John snares clearly angry that I turn him down. "I saw the way he was glaring at me at the meeting for looking at you." He said angrily.

" nothing like that, and it's not even your business if there is anything between us. Now if you will excuse you. I have a party to attend to. Goodbye Mr. Henry. " I exit the bar and didn't know where to head to as this place is so huge and I didn't want to get lost, more so I didn't also want to go back to the party. I need a quiet place... I kept walking and after a while of wondering about it, I found myself at a balcony which overlooks the floor where the party is taking place.

The balcony gives a clear view of the party. I could see couples swaging to the music playing. I take my eyes away from their breathing in the fresh air up here. The air is pure unlike the down there where I can see sweaty people dancing. My mind goes back to what just happened a few minutes back with John. I do feel guilty that I used him for my shopping earlier today, but that does not give him any right to have his way with me.

Was I rude to him in any way? I hope I wasn't because he was a gentleman for taking me to town to get a dress. Now when I cast my mind back to that I feel he had his reasons for accepting to help me earlier and probably spending a night with me could have been one of them. The simple thought disgusts me. I am not into that bullshit.

Perhaps I should enjoy the party rather than stressing about unnecessary things. Lena would have made sure I enjoyed this party to the fullest, it's unfortunate she isn't here with me. She would have made this party lively and enjoyable for me, had she been here with me. She is a party girl unlike me. I pull out my phone from my purse to give her a call.

Maybe talking to her will help my situation. Yeah, it should.

"Hey!" I greet her when she picks up on the first ring. Was she expecting my call?

"Hey? I thought you were at a party, with your boss. Why are you calling? Are you okay?" I could feel the concern dripping off of her voice.

"Geezzz relaxes woman, I'm fine."

"Then why are you calling, is something wrong with you." She enquires

"Oh so now I can call my best friend again unless I have a reason to." I accuse faking hurt in my voice

" no, not at all, that is not what I mean and you know it too well Ella. I mean you should be enjoying the party with your boss but if you are calling me then the party is either boring without me there with you or someone tried to hit on you. I know you hate both so which one of it this time huh?" Lena rattle finally stopping to catch her breath.

"Okay. You are right okay. You remember the guy I told you about? I hear a yes from her and continued - he almost kissed me saying something about he 'wanting me' and when I said I wasn't interested, he starts accusing me of having something doing with Mr grey. I pause to take a breathe - my boss of all people. Can you imagine? What even gave him that impression." I chuckled

"Is that all," Lena ask calmly

"Yes, it is. And how can you be so calm, Haven't you been listening to all I have just said so far?" I asked

"Of course I was listening to you. So now tell me, is there something going on between you and your boss?" She asked

"No, of course not. I would tell you if there was." I defended.

"Then done. There is nothing to be mad about. Forget whatever that Jones or whatever his name is said and enjoy the party. Live a little." She assured bringing a smile on my face.

"Yeah. Thanks, I will."

"No problem. Have fun." She said disconnecting the line.

The nerve of that girl. I called her but she is the one hanging up on me.

When I turn around...

"You didn't hear anything right? I asked Mr. Grey who was standing staring at me. Turn out he didn't catch the question.
