I wake up in my own bed, home. The curtains are shut yet light is shining through it, causing a bright angle to be shown around it. I leisurely stand up, feeling the gravity pushing on my body. Due to that, I nearly fall down on the floor. I place my hand on my head and begin wandering towards the window. I gently remove the curtains, causing bright light beams to touch my face. I immediately shut my eyes and take a few steps back, stumbling over my own feet. I rub my eyes

"Shit-" I mutter to myself before hearing a door opening behind me. I glance over my shoulder, seeing my mom standing there with moist eyes. "You're finally awake!" she speaks full of relief as she hurries over to me, followed by her arms being wrapped around me. "Mom?" I require softly with a hoarse voice, earning a sob from my mom that held me even closer. "How long... have I been out?" I question bewildered. "Way too long sweety... 4 months-" she replies before pulling away from the embrace. My eyes widen; "Four months?!" I nearly shout disoriented.

"How's Mike? Eleven? Will?" I ask in shock, not believing the number that just had been mentioned. My mom smiles softly as she wipes her tears away. "They're okay... I'll call the school. I won't go to work today," she states as she stands up. "Mom-" I call out with a winey tone. She knew I didn't want her to stay home because of me.

"(Y/n&Y/l/n), I'm not going to work," She states, knowing what I was going to say. "How'd you know I was going to say that so sure?" I question. "I'm your mother, sweetheart. I just know these things," She mentions with a bright smile. I roll my eyes casually along with a faraway chuckle. "Mom?" I call out as she gazes at me. "Can I see them?" I propose while pushing my weight on the chair so I had enough support to stand up.

"Of course, but... I think you should rest for now.", "Ha ha ha, very funny," I state sarcastically as I begin stepping slowly but steady. I accompany my mom downstairs. When I arrive at the entrance of the door, I notice easter eggs and easter adornment/decoration. My eyes increase, realizing how long I had slept. "I know, its a little bit too much." my mom speaks up with an embarrassed laugh. She usually went too far when it came to holidays since she was a very creative human being. I wander over towards the cuisine with my mom.

"What do you wanna eat? Boiled eggs or pancakes?" she asked as she takes some stuff out of the cabins. I gasp excitedly; "Pancakes!!" I cheer with a bright smile as the phone starts ringing. "Oh- be right back sweetheart," She states as she wanders off. My eyes scan through the room, admiring the decoration. I smile softly, she did some amazing things as always.

"I'm sorry. I can't come today... No, I understand... (Y/n) just woke up. Yes- Thank you... I don't know when she gets back, maybe next week?  Or next month? Okay, have a nice day. Bye." I heard my mom chatting in the hallway whilst I kept staring around. When she walked back into the room, my eyes slide to her.

"Who was it?" I question curiously. "The principal. He wondered where I was and if I would attend at school or not," she explained whilst gathering ingredients for the pancakes. "Oh- what did you say?",  "I said I stayed home and that you woke up. He congratulated me and mentioned that he shall let your friends know so they can come over." my mom explained as she puts the ingredients together followed by mixing them with a wooden spoon.

"When are they coming?" I ask, sitting on the counter of the kitchen. "I don't know, maybe at lunchtime or after school," She replies as she keeps on mixing the dough for the pancakes. "I hope they will be here soon-" I sigh softly. "I miss them.", "Speaking of, I heard you and Mike-" She purses her lips, causing me to roll my eyes. "Mom-" I whine, "It was on the cheek." I defend.

"Hey, You have to admit. I was the one who told you it was a cute guy." she tantalized while putting the dough into the pan, glancing at you. I scrunch my nose and look down as a small smile got placed on my survey. I also felt my cheeks slightly burning up. "But-" she starts as I look up again. "You know that girl... Eleven?" She questions as she puts a pancake on my plate. I get off the counter and sit down followed by grabbing the syrup. "Mhm..?" I mumble while making a smiley with it. Just when I wanted to make the mouth, my mom spoke up; "Well, they are a couple." she spoke, facing her back towards me. My eyes increase as I instantly glare up, still spilling the syrup on my pancake. She swirls around, smiling.

"W-What?" I mumble. She chuckles, "I was kidding, sweetheart." I exhale full of relief as I look down at my plate, remarking a pool of syrup on my pancake. "Shit-" I curse underneath my breath as I slowly glimpse up at her, smiling guiltily. My mom rolls her eyes as she starts laughing, "You're one of a kind, (Y/n)." She states as she puts a plate on the table that acquires a lot of pancakes. She takes one and puts some sugar on it. I sigh from relief, glad she wasn't mad at me. "But seriously. What happened that evening in the hospital?" She speaks up curiously while rolling her pancake. I clear my throat, doing the same. "A lot."

"Well..?", "We just had a fight, that's all," I murmur as I put a pancake in my mouth, munching on it. "About what?" She digs further, wanting answers. I point at my mouth, still chewing on the pancake. When I swallow, I take some orange juice and drink it. I could hear my mom sighing followed by crossing her arms. "It's important, sweety," She tells with a caring tone. I sigh softly, feeling a little bit nervous.

"Promise me you won't be mad, alright?" I say with anxious eyes. She nods her head as she leans into the front, folding her hands on the table."Okay, well... I ran away from them and I got into a place they call upside down. I killed something... inhuman." I mention with a slight frown. "That thing hurt Will, So...Mike said it was...My fault-" I state the last few words quietly as she furrows her eyebrows.

"How can it be your fault?" She asks. I shrug as I take another piece of my pancake, munching on it. She keeps frowning as she begins eating as well. "But why did you give him that kiss though?" I glare up at her and shake my head. "Let's not get into that," I speak with my mouth full, my hand resting on it. She chuckles. "Okay, ma'am." I smile timidly as a chuckle escaped from my lips. My mom and I start eating further in silence.
