After a few minutes of walking, we end up standing in front of B102, the English classroom. "Okay guys, we need a plan." The Afro-American states. "It would be messed up to get detention on the first day of school, so get your head together." The four boys end up putting their heads together, literally. They formed a group, causing me to feel a little bit uncomfortable. The boys started whispering, barely audible.
Within the group, 8: 34 am.
"Remember our game from yesterday?" Lucas questions. The boys nod in response. "This time it's much worse than the Demogorgon," He continues ㅡDustin mutters in concern Oh No...ㅡ Everyone's head turns to Mike. "What?" He sneers, "It's not my fault we're four minutes late--!"
"I told you guys I was sorry..." Will states softly. "Your fault, his fault, for all I care about it's the weirdo's. We need a plan, and fast." Lucas' face then turns calm again, "And I think I just found out who that is." His head moves up at the new kid. Dustin gasps, "Oh hell no! You always use Will or me as bait, now even the new girl? Did I say she's a girl already?"
"And every time I do that, we win, don't we?" Dustin shakes his head, "No, You win Lucas. Will and I always die." Lucas quickly gazes at Will which shrugs a little bit inoffensively. "Ehm, guys. I can hear you--?" The girl in the back mentions, feeling rather surprised by the guys' deception.
"I am pro, we got no time to lose. Sorry, Dustin." Mike wanders up to the girl and grabs her arm to which she violently pulls away. "Hey!"
Y/n, 8:36
Mike pulls me over without any words as Lucas opens the door. The five of us face a whole classroom along with someone familiar. The guy pushes me forward, "Sorry we're late, Miss (Y/M/L/N = Your mother's last name). We had to help out this new student." Mike mentions. My eyes widen and swiftly move down to the floor ㅡWhat is she doing here? ㅡ
"That's okay, boys. Sit down and open your books on page 10." The guys make their way up to their seats as I glance up. "Miss Y/M/L/N, where--" She cuts me off, "You can sit over there aside Daniel." She points at a spot aside from the window where a guy with dark hair and dark brown eyes sits. He wore a striped shirt with blue and white, beige pants with black shoes and of course, a belt.
"Yes, miss," I mumble and walk over while making a fist. I sit down aside from the boy and open my book without saying anything. I could feel his gaze burning into my left cheek, waiting for me to introduce myself.
"Alright, now that everyone's here. Let's continue." She began talking about Stephen King, Terry Pratchett and Roald Dahl. After that, she mentioned something about a project about a book that'll be taking place next month.
After English class, 9:15 am
I walk out of the classroom on my own. Not even here for a full day and I've been used as bait, tutored by my mom, and I had to sit aside this... not an ugly but not pretty boy. People here are just the same as back in New York.
I make my way up to the lockers and look on my raster. P.E class. A crowd of students starts swarming around me, and so are multiple conversations. I gather my P.E uniform and start searching for the gym.
???, 9:18 am.
I watch her disoriented features roaming around like a birdy that doesn't find its home. Her arms firmly wrapped around her uniform onto her chest, and her eyes swaying forth and back.
"Need some help?" A guy asks her, causing her to flinch. She turns around with a startled expression. "I- No, I mean, maybe?" The boy chuckles, "Well, what are you looking for?" She looks down on a paper, "The gym." He nods, "Allons-y," He mentions as the two walk off. My phone starts buzzing in my pocket as I turn around and make my way out of the school building.
Y/n, 9:20 am.
"You can speak french?" I ask, receiving a nod from the guy I was sitting aside a few minutes ago in class. He hums, "My dad's french, that's probably why my name's Daniel (Pronounced as Dányel) Agreste." We turn around a corner, "Which brings me to you. I haven't quite picked up on yours yet, though." I smile and reply with my full name. "Y/M/L/N?" I nod, "Seems like I should be more careful around Miss Y/M/L/N." He gives me a smug smile, causing me to chuckle shyly.
"Voilà, on y est. I'll see you at the lockers at lunch." He states and walks off before even letting me say something. I watch him disappear behind the corner and can't help but feel slightly flustered.
"Oh, C'mon Dustin, you're so not cool!" Lucas' voice echoes a few feet away from me. "You know what's not cool Lucas? Being selfish!"
"When have I ever been selfish?", "Oh, you really wanna talk about that?" Dustin's voice starts getting louder, causing me to turn my head away from the corner. "Guys! Guys! Guys!" Mike puts his hands between them. "Can you quit it already?" His voice lowers again, "People are watching..." His dark eyes scan the hallway with shame.
"Well, well, well, if that isn't Frogface and the losers." A voice states alongside me. Two boys pass me by as Lucas and Dustin stop bickering.
"Shut up Troy," Lucas spits out while tagging onto his shoulder straps.
"No need to get violent, Night." His friend holds back a grin. "We just came here to tell you that we look forward to this year. You know, maybe you losers finally get the chance to find friends that aren't Will's nerdy brother." The guy with puppy-like features gazes down.
I felt the urge to step up, but I knew that would make me a target as well. I witness the two boys walking off while laughing as the bell rings once more: the second period starts.
The guy with brown hair apologises to his friends and starts making his way up to the gym. "Will!" Dustin calls out after him with no success. The puppy guy shortly makes eye contact with me before walking off.
I blink a little bit lost as the other three guys finally acknowledge my presence. Lucas and Mike shortly walk off towards their class as well: leaving Dustin and me alone.
The toothless boy makes his way up to me. "Sorry about before, y/n/n (your nickname: can be anything that goes with the letters of your name; Repeating the first two letters, letting it end on an 'i' etc.). They aren't as open-minded as me." He chuckles as if what just happened never even occurred.
"Wait- what class do you have now?" I reply with sports as he smiles. "Nice!" I frown, "We're not in the same class all the time?" Dustin shakes his head, "We all have different rasters. Will and I have P.E now, but Mike and Lucas have history." He suddenly looks surprised, "You haven't been to a normal American school before?" I shake my head, "My mom... tutored me at home."
"Makes sense." A short silence resembles as I awkwardly skim through the hallway, acknowledging people roaming around, dissappearing behind walls and appearing behind them as well. "Let's go," I nod as the two of us wander off to the gym.
