A woman who was headstrong,
Ready to take on any challenge.
She walked through the halls of fame,
Until she met her match.
A kiss of death,
A walk of breath,
And a nose of fire.
Jaws of pain,
Pounding of the brain,
And a never-ending tire.
Friends left one by one,
Never stopping by to see if she was still alive.
She pushed everyone away,
After that realization.
Months slipped by,
Without a shimmer of hope.
She tried to go back,
But failed to fit in.
She grew tired,
Helpless,
Scared,
Alone.
She never could be the same again.
Hope arrived,
But with a trick up its sleeve.
The furious shake of a brain,
And the lights went out.
She could not drive,
She could not leave.
Her memory had vanished,
Her past faded.
She could only move forward,
But without those friends,
She was lost.
Where could she go?
Walking a path alone,
She finally made it.
Back to a mindset that could not be shaken.
No matter how great the fall.
