Perrie stares at her laptop screen, trying to figure out her next move. She has heard about Jade in the past year through the media; the blonde knows her ex girlfriend is on a famous TV show and she's doing well. Though the confectioner is still hurt from their one-sided breakup, she is happy for the princess. It was crystal-clear, even four years ago, that Jade wouldn't be happy with anything other than being a successful actress.
A few minutes later, Perrie finally begins to arrange her thoughts. She comes to conclusion the email she had received from Jade is quite cold. If the brunette is trying to find the way into Perrie's heart again, she already took a wrong turn. However, Perrie does feel like she needs to write some kind of reply, which will consist of two things; one is telling ICF she would be happy to join since she thinks this foundation is truly amazing, and two is something personal for Jade.
The blonde decides to split the two things into separate emails. She replies to ICFoundation@gmail.com first, thanking them for the offer and writing she absolutely wants to join. Then she logs out of her business email account and in to her personal one. Back when Jade left, Perrie had emailed her, writing that the princess is officially fired; it was the only appropriate way to do it without talking ot her. The confectioner types in Jade's personal email adress, skips the subject line and begins with Dear Jade, but it seems like too much. She deletes what she has written and replaces it with one simple word, followed by many complicated thoughts.
Jade,
I'm not sure why I received this email from your foundation. Don't get me wrong; the idea presented there is lovely - but I'm very confused with you. I'm confused because I am so proud of you for doing what you do, but at the same time, it's been four years since we last talked. The only reason I can think of that explains why my business has been 'handpicked' is that you'd like to renew contact with me and maybe we could go back to being friends (I was hurt when I left, I practically begged for you to come back, but I'm over it now). So if that's what we're doing, we need to catch up with each other. I've heard about what you have been up to, so let me tell you about me:
It took so much work, but today there are eight Chocolate & Chocolate locations in the US. Impressive, I know. Like you said to me that night a few years ago, people are begging me to be their friend (this sentence got stuck in my head for a long time now), but not for the right reasons. They know I climbed my way up to where I am now, business-wise, and they just want to use my rope. Though I'm not lonely; a little over a year ago, I got engaged to my best friend. He's amazing. I'm happy. I hope you are too.

There are countless regular things you can do when you can't sleep, but Jade, being herself, chose the unusual. After she had returned from the grocery store, she decided to email her ex about her charity project; this decision might have had to do with the bottle of white wine which is currently next to the her laptop.
As she reads Perrie's reply, the brunette is hit by a variety of emotions. She is delighted with the fact that the confectioner replied- and even wrote she's proud of Jade- but disappointment creeps into her mind. The reason is that she understands she has been, in fact, friend zoned. The actress quickly shakes this feeling away, feeling guilty about experiencing it at all. How can she even hope to love Perrie again after all the damage she caused? After the way she left, so cruelly and harshly?
She is at the emotional stage of being drunk right now, which results in an honest email full of typos.
Pez, I reealy miss you. I'm happy you're happy. I really want to meet you again sometime. I want to tell you that the time I spent wifh you was one of the best experiencs. I miss the way you treated me, nobody knows what to do when I fall a sleep in the club now. You alllways knew what to do, what to say, like you were Jesy or Leigh Anne. I don't go out to the club with thdm as much as I used to, and I need someone like u to wake me up and call a taxi for me when it's 1 AM.
Leigh has a baby now, her name is Amoy, Ammie for as a nikkname. It's a Jamiacan name and it meens beautiful goddess. She's already a diva just like Lee-Lee, refusing to roll over even though she should have done so by her age.
I know I was terrible to yoi, and sorry probobly doesn't mean much, but I'm sorry. Can we meet soon? I'm in LA right now, but I can travel to Long Beach this weeked if you'd like.

Reading Jade's reply, curiosity takes over Perrie. Even though the blonde wrote about her engagement in the most clear way possible, Jade didn't seem to return the same. She did not mention anything related to her love life, and a small part the blonde wants to know. She feels bad, but doesn't stop herself from googling Jade's name. She looks for anything about her relationships, and quickly finds out the actress had dated a guy named Sam for about a month two years ago, and a guy named Jed. According to the article, Jed and her broke up last September after dating for a year and a half.
It's normal to check up on your ex from time to time, isn't it? At least that's what Perrie tells herself. She types a quick reply to Jade, telling her she'd meet her this weekend and suggesting a local ice cream shop in Long Beach as the place. She feels anxious about this meeting, but a bit excited too. There are certain emotions only Jade can awaken in Perrie, and they're all starting to erupt now. There's a specific angle to the blonde's smile, accompanied by some unfaithfulness. In brief - it's complicated. Always has been.
