"Merry Christmas babe," Jade says as she wakes up from her nap and plants a kiss on the blonde's cheek. Today is Christmas Eve and it's even somewhat chilly in Long Beach.
Perrie pretends to still be asleep, facing the side opposite of Jade. Sleeping is most of what she does nowadays. She's been deep into sadness this past week and a half, and Jade has been nothing but kind to her, constantly trying to lift her mood and make her laugh. But since Perrie hates where she's standing at life right now, and feels like nothing could ever cheer her up.
The confectioner is extremely thankful for Jade, but there are small moments that remind her of Luke, in which not having him feels like a pinch in the most sensitive spot of her heart. It's stuff they used to do together, food they would cook on date nights in. On top of that there's the lawsuit, and she feels like crap despite trying very hard to be happy. She can tell the need to take care of her is wearing on Jade, and can't stand it.
The brunette heads down the stairs and makes a snack for the two of them - pancakes since today is special. She's quite worried about Perrie, to the point where she isn't sure if the blonde knows it's Christmas at all. The younger girl keeps ignoring calls from her parents and siblings, so Jade decided they would spend the holiday at Leigh Anne's house. And the special surprise - her gift to Perrie will be a pair of tickets to Thailand, so she can disconnect and maybe find some joy. It is a last minute arrangement, and the trip is only seven days despite the long flight, but the actress is hoping Perrie will be excited, even just a bit.
"Jade," the confectioner comes down the stairs and the princess is pleased with her getting out of bed. "Do you have plans for tonight?"
"We're going to Leigh Anne's," Jade replies with a big smile. Perrie still hadn't met Amoy, Leigh's baby girl, and the brunette can't wait for her to do so. Though by seeing the tired look in Perrie's eyes, she realizes it might not be a good idea after all. "You want to go, right?"
Perrie makes herself a cup of coffee and sits at the kitchen island, in front of Jade, watching the steam coming up from the cup.
"I do, it's just that... I don't really know what's going on with me." There's a long pause before she continues speaking slowly. "I need some time away from work and maybe from LA too. It just feels like I have nowhere." At the sound of these words, Jade can almost hear her heart cracking and breaking into tiny pieces in her chest. She would have liked to think Perrie always felt safe with her. "Never mind, I'll just go shower now so we can go."

Christmas at Leigh and Andre's house turns out to be one of the best ideas that ever popped into Jade's head. The brunette learns that Perrie is absolutely smitten with babies, and didn't leave Leigh's daughter's side for a minute.
Leigh Anne is usually quite protective of Amoy, but Jade figured she must have felt like she could trust Perrie, because both Leigh and Andre fell asleep on the couch after dinner. Jesy and her boyfriend Chris are chatting in the kitchen, and Jade can't resist the sight of Perrie holding a baby so peacefully and lovingly.
"Jade," the business owner starts. "I'm sorry for how depressing I've been-"
"Pez, stop apologizing. I did the exact same a few years ago. Besides, I love spending time with you, no matter what mood you're in." The younger girls smiles. Jade always knows what to say when Perrie is feeling down, and it makes the blonde feel understood, which is a great feeling to experience; especially after spending so much time with someone who could never understand these nuances Jade knows by heart.
"Are you free tomorrow? I think it's someone's birthday." Perrie says with a smirk and lightens her mood. At least one day, tomorrow, she must act like everything's okay.
"You planned something?" The princess asks, tears burning in her eyes. She knows how tough the blonde has had it lately and didn't expect her to think about anything but her daily struggles.
"Of course I did," Perrie replies with loving eyes. The plan for tomorrow is to wake up late, since the blonde knows Jade needs some sleep. Then, they will be going to a spa - a specific one Perrie knows Jade has been dying to check out for a while now. In the evening, they will have dinner in this fancy restaurant Jade likes, and it will make up for the fact that Jade could never dine at such places just four years ago. The blonde has everything planned to be the brunette's favorite. "Do you want me to tell what we're doing or should I keep it a secret?"
"No, I definitely want it to be a surprise." The brown eyed girl replies with a smile. "And speaking of surprises, you probably noticed I still didn't give your Christmas present."
"What more do I need? I've got you, and a sweet baby to cuddle." Perrie jokingly says, and Jade is happy with the fact that she's finally getting back to her old playful self.
"Well, you will still have me - minus the baby though - in Thailand!" She lifts her arms to her sides and joyfully mouths tada.
"You didn't!" The blonde says after a few seconds of shock.
"I just thought you needed a break from everything. I've been to Thailand before and this place is absolutely gorgeous. But it's going to be short, only a week, because we both have work, and-"
"How did you know that Thailand is my dream?" Perrie asks, trying to remember if she ever told Jade that. "And I can't believe you have the money to take me on a vacation," she continues as she feels herself getting emotional. "You've come so far, Jadey. I'm so proud of you."
"It shocked me too," the brunette says, laughing but at the same time on the verge of crying from happiness. "You're going to do the exact same, you're going to find your way and pull youself up. I know."
"I really hope so," the younger girl says. "Oh, and Jade?"
"Yeah?"
"I love you too."
