"Why did you say yes?"

"I don't want to get into it right now." Perrie replies to Luke, her eyes burning from the amount of tears she cried today. They had the talk. She told him she's not down for marriage yet, that everything is happening too fast, too soon. Saying Luke is inconsolable would be an understatement.

"Why did you say yes?!" He asks again while standing up. He is both angry and sad, the blonde has never seen him like this before. Though his body is tense, Perrie can't help but still see this man she loves, for his gentleness and class. She knows Luke is every girl's dream, really; but for some unclear, vile reason, he isn't her perfect fantasy.

"I was under pressure, Luke!" Perrie finally says. "You proposed in the middle of the Beyonce concert, all this people cheering me to say yes and I... I stressed out." The deep disappointment in Luke's eyes is clearly visible. He takes a deep breath before speaking again.

"If that's how you feel, you had to have a talk with me, Perrie. That's always been the problem with you, you're impossible to communicate with. Simply impossible." This statement makes Perrie cry again. She really is a very communicative person, she knows that about herself. But this only works with those who think like her, and Luke... His mind doesn't work the same way as hers. "You chose to waste everyone's time for over a year than to say this to me."

"I need to go." The blonde replies. She grabs her phone and keys and lets Luke's words pass above her head. She knows she made a mistake, but there's no point in digging into it over and over; nothing's going to change the past now.

Pierre catches a cab and tells the driver Jade's address, one of the few places where she has always felt truly safe. She feels like a scared little kid, knocking on her friend's door with tearful eyes. The brunette opens the door, already dressed in her Mickey Mouse pajamas, and pulls Perrie for a secure hug.

"What's wrong?" The older girl asks.

"I broke up with him." The confectioner replies. She lets go of Jade as they both step into the living room. Jade's heart begins racing. She knew things definitely weren't perfect between Perrie and her fiancé, but didn't know Perrie was even thinking about a break up. On top of all of that, Jade realizes she might be one step closer to getting back together with her ex girlfriend - and it's all a bit too much information to process for one night.

Perrie sits on the couch while the actress makes some tea in the kitchen. A few minutes later, she is already sitting next to Perrie with the two cups on the table in front of them.

"I'm so sorry I just came here without letting you know-"

"You know that you're always welcome here, right?" The princess asks whilst taking her friend's hands in hers  and looking into her tired blue eyes. "Always." It is the first time in four years the two women share a real, raw moment. And just like that, a notification makes Perrie's phone interrupt. The blonde grabs it as fast as she can, still holding to a bit of hope that this whole day was nothing but a bad dream.

The younger girl unlocks her phone only to discover the notification was nothing but a boring email from work. As she does so, Jade notices her lockscreen. It's a photo of Perrie, wearing a black crop top and a pair of jeans, looking as beautiful as always, and smiling to the camera. In the image, she's standing next to a tan guy which Jade realizes is Luke. The brunette is once again reminded of how odd it is that Perrie had not once proposed to set up a meeting between Jade and Luke; the actress considers Perrie and her as close friends, but Jade has never met this man, whom the blonde was supposed to marry.

Looking at the lockscreen, the princess notices something in it that bothers her. It takes a few seconds, but finally she can put her finger on it - it's Luke's posture. He is flexing his arm muscle and got his gaze on it. Jade thinks about selfish he must be; Miss Perrie Edwards herself is right next to him, yet he chooses to admire himself.

"When was this photo taken?" The brunette asks, and the blonde replies that it was around the time when Luke and her first started dating. "Why's he looking at himself instead of you?" This question hits Perrie hard, and brings her back to the fragile state she was in this whole evening. She doesn't answer Jade’s question. "Do you want to talk about it?" The brown eyed woman continues. "Like, the break up?"

"What is there to say?" Perrie replies, her eyes burning again, and sighs. "It has been dead for so long I don't even know what I was doing this past year."

"You were trying to figure your life out, Pez. Trust me, I understand." Jade says and adds her sweet laugh at the end of her words.

"You do, Jadey. One of the very few who can." The confectioner tells her with a soft, sad smile. This statement makes Jade feel like the beating of her heart can be heard from miles away.

"If I were there," the princess says and points at the image of Perrie and Luke. "I wouldn't have taken my eyes off of you."

"You wouldn't?" Perrie playfully asks.

"Not for a second." Jade feels like she needs to tell Perrie what she has been feeling towards her, right this moment, before the brunette is going to burst from stress. She tells herself that today might not be the best time to do it - but Perrie herself said Luke and her died long ago, so maybe the timing isn't the worst? Jade can't keep on sitting here, so close to her friend, and pretend like everything's okay. "Perrie?"

"Yeah?" The blonde locks gazes with the brunette.

"I love you."
