I ran through backyards and jumped over fences and ducked behind cars.
Danger, danger, danger, danger.
There were people packing up to get in their car 6 houses down from the place I stopped. I saw lights coming around the corner and I climbed the nearest tree.

"It'll be morning when we get there honey you can sleep on the way." I heard the neighbors say. I tried not to listen to their conversation anymore but I longed for what they what had. A wholesome family that was packing up to go on a road trip. My family was dysfunctional and we never went anywhere. But right now I wish I was with them and I wish we were leaving. Because I wanted to leave, but I didn't wanna get taken.

As the family got in the car and backed out of their driveway, the same car that pulled up to my house cruised down the street. I watched as it drove past the tree I was in and sighed. I don't know who they are or what they want but I don't have anything.

After the Buick was no longer in sight, I got down out of the tree and headed home.

'Please Lord don't let that car come back', I prayed. 'Please.'

And lo and behold.

The Buick came back up the street and I dived for the nearest bush. They must've seen me because the car stopped and the driver and passenger got out. I could see them through the leaves of the bush so I watched them.

"You saw her too right?" said the passenger. He had chocolate skin, face tats and wore a durag with a hat on top. He was oddly satisfying to look at, but he and his buddy were trying to snatch me up. And that's odd, scary even, but not satisfying.

"Yes." the driver responded. I could tell by his hands that he had lighter skin, but that's all I could tell since he had a mask on. He looked over his shoulder to the back seat of the car before telling the passenger, "Come on, let's find her."

It wasn't until then that I noticed there was another body in the back seat. I strained to see through the tinted window to see another male. One side of his hair was lighter than the other, he had a few face tats as well, pain ridden eyes, and a piece of tape over his mouth.

While I was busy observing the guy in the back seat, the other 2 men went the wrong way looking for me. I decided to wait until they got back in their car and left before continuing to go home. I focused my attention on the guy in the backseat. He looked like he didn't even care to be alive. I could sense the sadness, it radiated off of him.

They other guys came back to get in the car.

"I know for a fact I saw her here. Why the hell is she running? She told us to come get her." the passenger said.

"I don't know but we keep looking. She already knows too much." the driver responded. I was only 7 houses away from my home so I would've been able to make it there in a breeze. But...

The flash went off as my phone rang.
