Chapter 33 - Birthday

7 am, January 23rd...

:: Jahseh's POV::

I didn't want a party. I barely wanted to even remember it was my birthday. My spent my last birthday in The Cage and I spent the birthday before that in jail. Maybe Carlos won't beat me blindfolded as a gift this time. Ever since Andromeda came, he's loosened up, pause. He treats us like we're his children. Except for Ski. I don't really think he likes Ski.

I asked Andromeda to be my girl last night and she's supposed to give me her answer today and that's really the only thing I'm looking forward to.

I stayed the night in Ski's room and since I woke up before him, I meditated to pass the time until I was disrupted by someone knocking on the door.

I got up to see who it was, and it was Andy's friend, Emma Z.

"Good morning Jahseh. Happy birthday." She smiled and handed me a little stuffed bear whose fur was half blonde and half black. "Ya like it?"

"Good morning Emma Z, thank you. And yes, I do." I said as I smiled at the little bear I held in my hand.

"I knew you would!" She smiled and before I could react, she was hugging me. "Have a good day!" She said after she pulled away and then bounced down the hall. I smiled at how innocent she was, hoping she would keep that about her.

I closed the door. My phone lit up and it was Andy.

I put my phone down and decided to take the next hour to sleep, then get up and start getting ready for the day around 8.

::Andromeda's POV::

I smiled at my phone and hooked it up to the blue tooth speaker. I put on Birthday by Katy Perry and danced around my room as I got ready.

Last night I texted Ski to sneak out and pick up some stuff for Jah's birthday. He got some cake batter and icing, an arts and craft circle, some string, some beads, and some feathers and I used that to make him a dream catcher last night after Ski got back. Jahseh said he didn't want anything but I had to get -or in this case, make- him at least one gift.
