Adoption Day
(Elizabeth's perspective)
My life has always been unfortunate and unpredictable. But didn't know how quickly my life would change when a woman walked into our orphanage.
"Elizabeth! It's time to wake up!" I hear a voice suddenly snap me out of my peaceful slumber, I stir in my comfortable warm bedsheets still half asleep and start to fall asleep again.
"Get up!! You have to get ready for today."
My eyes shoot open and I'm staring at the ceiling. The same ceiling, in the same bed, in the same orphanage I've been living in for the past 13 years. And I hate it, it's so boring we live out in the middle of nowhere. You have to drive the long twisted driveway just to get here. It's like I'm trapped here.
And we rarely ever go out. It takes thirty minutes in a car for the nearest town. I think the late time we all went out was when I was twelve and we went out to dinner at a restaurant and there wasn't that many other kids here. We always have our meals here.
"Elizabeth!! Wake up and get dressed." I hear Bonnie yell from down stairs.
