Alec asked from behind them "valentine" clary, Malia and jace said in unison "has with my mother" clary said "and he can speak to you through that necklace?" Alec said "like here in the institute" "it's like when I saw dot" clary said "it's a portal shard "jace examined the necklace
"That's why your mother made sure you had it" Malia said and jace nodded "all I know is what I saw... my mother's alive, she's unconscious but alive"clary said "where are they" Alec said Ina demanding tone, clary answered that she didn't know
Alec then took the necklace despite Clary's protests. He claimed he was putting it somewhere safe, where no one would be tempted to use it" Alec we should use it to get to valentine" Malia said "if I were valentine, id make you think that you could rescue Jocelyn and then id lure clary to me and leverage her life for the cup" Alec said as he put away the necklace

MALIA AND JACE WERE IN THE STRAINING ROOM, SPARRING.
Jace had the upper hand, however, Malia noticed a weak spot in his stance and knocked down his legs and held the staff to his chest, both breathing heavily "told you I'd win" she said between breaths "I'm sorry that I did not believe you" he chuckled
The two didn't even noticed the three people standing watching them until jace looked over to the side "maryse" he said and the two stood upright, jace walked up to the woman "hey, it's great to see you" he said "how's everyone in Idris?" jace questioned. Malia was confused as shed never heard of a place called Idris before
"Where's max?" he asked "no max, just mum with her hair on fire" Izzy said walking towards jace and Malia "I love how shadow hunters share. A hidden brother and a secret country and a private portal" clary listed "mother. Welcome back, we didn't expect you" ale greeted "you should be prepared, whether you expect me or not" maryse said "I am, we are" Alec tried to cover up "well talk about the institute later, so is anybody going to introduce me to your friends?"
"My name is Malia hale, miss" she introduced, trying to remember what stiles had told her about being as polite as possible to higher powers "that was some excellent fighting over there, who taught you?" Marys asked "my cousins and some of my friends, but mainly I learnt from just taking on the threats that invaded my town" Malia explained and maryse nodded "okay, right now we have a bigger problem, the see lies have stopped communicating with the clave and wont explain why. My guess is they're still upset, we asked them to send scouts to look for valentine, but no one in their realm will talk"
