"Everyone you will be working on this project with your new table mate so get to know one another well. I'll expect your fully finished projects to be handed in this time next week. Good day everyone." The teacher said as she finished up the last class for today. I groaned realizing that I just might be stuck with Jungkook for an entire week, more or less, and I was just beginning to get the slight hope that he'd leave it up to me entirely, as I'd rather do it myself then hang out with him, when he turned to me and said;

"Let's head to the library and get started on this project." I nodded and followed him out of the room. We entered the library and browsed around a bit for books related to our project. I felt hot and uncomfortable especially knowing Jungkook was standing quite close behind me, following me as I browsed, watching me as I picked a couple of books off the shelves. We sat down at one of the small studying tables in the library. Sitting across from one another. After about half an hour reading silently I had forgotten my discomfort and stretched my legs forgetting how small the table was. My legs bumped into his.

"Sorry." I mumbled.

"All good." Came the reply. We weren't exactly chatting our heads off, we simply read and jotted down notes and then compared information, but the silence between us, I noticed, didn't seem to be awkward it seemed actually really quite comfortable despite me having a great dislike for him. "Let's finish up here." Jungkook said glancing at his watch.

"Yeah, it's getting late." We stood up and walked together in silence again to the school's gate.

"See ya," He said "Let's continue this tomorrow." He waved one of his study books in a hand and you nodded.

"Okay, bye."

(Time skip, to the next day, after school again)

I didn't understand it. Jungkook actually wasn't lying when he said he wasn't going to tease me anymore. He didn't when he came to school today. He smiled at me and said hi I just nodded in reply as I still didn't like him enough to give him a proper greeting but I couldn't exactly say I hated him anymore. It was sort of like a slight dislike. I was going to go talk with my friends and maybe catch Ji-hun somewhere but I remembered that I had made arrangements to study with Jungkook.

"Bye girls say hi to Ji-hun for me if you see him." I said, "I have to go now."

"Okay," They all said but then Ye-jin spoke up;

"Where are you going? Is it the same place as yesterday?" She asked seemingly out of pure curiosity but you sensed a darker motive.

"I'm not sneaking off to see a boy." I snorted voicing the thoughts I knew she was having. They all laughed.

"So who are you seeing?"

I knew this was going to sound weird to them but I told them anyway. "I'm seeing Jungkook." I said with an awkward smile.

"So you are sneaking off to see a boy." Ye-jin laughed.

"Not sneaking," I laughed as well "I'm only seeing him because of our shared project."

"Yeah we know." They laughed and I waved goodbye. I walked into the library to see Jungkook already sitting at the table we had occupied yesterday. I sat down, nodding my greeting and he grunted in reply.

(Time skip; two hours later)

I was exhausted and my hands were aching. We had been writing for two hours, this time we actually talked a bit more about the subject and for some reason Jungkook bombarded me with questions about my hobbies and likes I answered them truthfully as I saw no reason not to despite being greatly confused. I was dying for some fresh air and a rest for my hand.

"Let's go out and rest a bit." Jungkook said practically reading my mind.

"Okay." I immediately agreed.

The two of us walked together down the street and into the park that I had been walking with Ji-hun in a couple days before. We sat down on a bench under a tree and I inhaled sharply taking in the fresh air and watching people run with their dogs. After a minute or so of silence I spoke up;

"Why were you asking all those questions about me?" I asked.

"Because I was interested to see what you had to say." He replied looking forward, his eyes following a large dog barking happily at it's owner who was struggling to keep up with the running creature.

"Why?" I asked "Why were you interested? I mean you're supposed to be a too cool for school bully who doesn't care about anyone especially not his victims."

"A too cool for school bully?" Jungkook snorted "Is that how you see me? And you a victim?" He laughed "If you were a victim you would have cried at least once when I called you names." I stared at him, surprised at how casually he was addressing me despite only being on friendly-ish terms with him for two days and one of those days we hardly even spoke to one another. I was also surprised at how casually he talked about himself being a bully. "I do care. I really do and for your information I don't have 'victims'."

"But I heard that you bully all the new girls." I said wondering why he was denying it.

"Man, all the people at our school exaggerate big time." He sighed rubbing his forehead. "All I did was tease them a little to see their reactions."

"Reactions?" I asked.

"Yeah," He smiled "They look cute when they get annoyed or upset, they sometimes even giggle. Either way I always say it was just a joke and they get over it but I suppose I should have known better, that people will make anything up for a good gossip." I stared at him.

"So why did you tease me for so long?" I asked incredulous at this new information.

"Because I couldn't get a reaction out of you."

(Jungkook's POV)

I glanced at her. She was looking up at me with a confused expression. I laughed and explained;

"I suppose I don't really have any other choice but to tell you," I recalled the memory;

***Flashback***

"We have a new girl in the class today." The teacher announced. I looked up from my desk to see a very pretty girl step in beside the teacher and bow to the class in a formal greeting. "Hello my name is (Y/N) (L/N) Please take good care of me." I watched her sit down in front of me. At lunch I watched her eat with her newfound friends I could see her face and expression but she hardly smiled and when she did her eyes were bored. Every time she was away from her friends she didn't smile once her expression stayed the same the entire day and by the end of school I walked up to her.

"What are you doing?" I asked her as she sat on a bench reading.

"Just reading." She replied flatly.

"What are you reading?" I asked.

"A science book." Came the reply. I wanted to see her face change. I wanted to see her pretty face truly smile. I didn't know how to make her smile so instead I just snatched the book from her grasp and read a couple words.

"Hey!" She yelled with an irritated expression. There. She had reacted. I handed her the book and then walked away saying;

"See ya later."

***End of Flashback***

I told her everything, everything except the fact that I immediately had thought she was pretty and that I had started crushing on her since day one. (Y/N) looked up at me surprised.

"So why did you want to see me react so bad?" She asked still confused which was quite apparent. I sighed but decided to tell her the truth.

"My- my older brother has been going through depression for a couple years now. When we were younger we used to play a lot but then he started getting sadder and sadder and soon he wouldn't laugh. He couldn't. He was in such a state that he couldn't even talk to his younger brother anymore mum and dad wouldn't let him out of fear that his misery would rub off on me. I'm older now and can talk to him but he just tells me that he feels nothing and that nothing matters anymore."
