Dad always said revenge wasn't the answer. That I should stop, think, and listen before I reacted. But he had never been hurt like this.
I wanted to make Casey pay. Ever ounce in my body was crying out to hurt not just Casey but April too. Those two hurt Donnie and I and they deserved to be punished.
My phone dings. I pick it up and read it.
Unknown- Hey it's me, Donnie.
I smile. I change the name and create a contact for him.
Me- It's been a week, and now you contact me? :)
D- Sorry bout that, I took a shower and your number washed away.
Me- Then how'd you get it back.
D- I have my ways. ;)
I laughed.
Me- So, whatcha been up to?
D- Not much. You?
Me- Pretty much the same.
I pause for a bit.
Me- How do you feel?
Nothing for 2 minutes.
D- Still pretty hurt. You?
Me- I've been crying for a week now.
D- Wanna meet up and hang out?
I smile.
Me- Name the place and time and I'll be there.
D- Great! How about Murakami's noddle place at 8?
I glance at the clock. 7.
Me- That sounds perfect.
D- I'll see you then.
Me- See you then.
Murakami was a blind person and I think Donnie knew that. I mean why else would he suggest the place?
I hop out of bed and go to the shower. I take a quick one before I hop out and get dressed. I put on clothes that fit me somewhat. I look at the clock.7:30. I should start leaving.
I go downstairs. My dad standing right there.
"Hey, dad. I'm gonna be gone for a little bit. Going out with a friend." I said.
"Alright just be home by 11," Dad said. I nod and leave. I walk all the way there and by the time I make it it's 8:10. I look around.
"Donnie?" Nothing. I look inside and see him. I walk inside.
"I'm sorry we are closed," Murakami said.
"No, Murakami this is the friend that I was waiting for," Donnie explain. "Ash, this is Murakami."
"Nice to meet you." He said. He soon began cooking. The two of us sat down.
"He allows us hereafter hours. Then we have to scat with the food so he can close up." Donnie explained. I nodded.
"Sounds like a plan," I spoke. The food was done and we left. We went on top of a building and ate. "So what are these called again?"
"Pizza gyoza." He said. He started to eat another one. I did too.
"These are so good," I spoke. Soon all the food was gone. We both laid back and looked at the stars. We were quiet. "Did you end it with April yet?"
He sighed.
"No. Not yet." He answered. "You?" I shook my head.
"No," I spoke quietly. "I can't bring my self to do it." I looked at Donnie. "I want him to feel pain. I want to hurt him like he hurt me." He nodded.
"I know how that feels." He said. Suddenly I get an idea.
"What if we do?" I asked.
"What?" He asked. I sit up.
"What if we give them the pain, that they gave us," I asked
"How can we do that?" He asked."If they don't like us like that anymore hurting them emotionally won't do it."
"Not unless we change something about ourselves," I said. "We need to be better than they are." I looked at him. He seemed to be in thought.
"Think about it," I said. I get on my knees. He's still lying down."I change something that makes me more attractive, and then when he's fallen head over heels in love with me. I break his heart how he broke mine."
"And make her pay for what she did?" He asked. I nodded. He closes his eyes and takes a deep breath. "Let's do it." I smiled.
"Okay. So first things first. What does April have that I don't?" I asked. I sit there and think. I look at him.
"What?" He asked.
"I need help. I don't know her like you?" I said.
"I'm not comparing you two." He said.
"Please," I say. He looks at me.
"Okay. How much do you weigh?" He asked. I cringe a bit.
"167," I said.
"Really. You feel lighter than that. She's 130." He spoke.
"I have to lose 40 pounds," I said. "Okay, keep going."
"She dresses like a girl. She wears makeup and she's trained in ninjutsu." He said. I frown.
"No wonder everyone likes her," I said.
"Not everyone." He said. I look at him. "Okay, my turn." He sits up and looks at me.
"What?" I ask as he just looks at me.
"What do Casey have that I lack?" He asked. I look at him.
"How much can you bench press?" I asked.
"175," He answered.
"Oh wow," I said. "That's more than I can. However, Casey can bench press 230." He sighed. "Also, Casey doesn't think before he does stuff. He's rash with his actions." He nodded. "Your list is smaller than mine. No fair." He laughed. I laid down again.
"Maybe we can also use something we have to an advantage." He suggested.
"Like what?" I asked.
"Well, for insist if you're the romantic kind use that. If you're skilled in cooking use that." He said. I nodded.
"Okay, I see now," I said. I sat back up. "One small question." He made a humming noise. "How am I suppose to learn ninjutsu?"
"I can teach you." He said.
"Really?" I asked. He nodded. I smiled. "Thank you. When do we start?" I asked. He stands up and I do as well.
"Tomorrow. Your gonna wanna find proper workout clothes." He said.
"I get paid in two days. I can work out in whatever for now until then right?" I asked. He thinks before he nods.
