Aries had been called down to commander Morrison and commander Reyes' office. The British woman had figured this was about her current performance. This worried Aries, as she felt as if her performance had improved over the month she had been a soldier... With a sigh and a shake of her head, she entered their office. Of course, she had practiced. Left arm behind her back, a four finger salute on her forehead. "Reporting for duty, commanders!" Mentally, she smirked. Aries felt like she had gotten better.

"At ease, soldier. Take a seat," spoke Reyes. This... Was concerning. Aries lowered her hand, and sat in the seat in front of the desk. Jack got up, closing the door, then sitting back down next to Gabriel. The air was thick, the moment tense. This clearly meant something serious, though, Aries was afraid to ask what. Gabriel looked... Soft, for once. Full of... Sadness? Aries couldn't tell. Clearly, commander Morrison was full of concern. With this, and a few minutes of silence, Jack cleared his throat.

"Crawford... Soldier, I... How do I begin?" The commander started, and all Aries could do was nod her head. "Recently, there has been many Omnic attacks here... And other places." Morrison sighed, and Gabriel stepped in. He pulled up a holographic screen from his tablet, and faced the screen to Aries. It was a newspaper, and the headline read,

'Omnic attack on King's Row, all residents killed!'

And with this, Aries was completely frozen. She read the headline over and over again, reading the article.  There was a list, a list of all the victims. And the first two people she saw...

"Amber Crawford, 37, Orion Crawford, 37,"

Aries had a strong grip on her pants. Her head slowly lowered, and hung. It was something Aries never thought she would see, though she was not in denial. She knew it was absolutely true, and there was no point in denying it anyways. Poof! Like that, everything and everyone Aries had ever known or loved... Gone. Aries stood, and forced the chair away from her, almost toppling onto the ground. "Crawford-" JAck started, sorrow in his tone. Aries just cut him off completely.

"No, no. It's completely fucking okay! It's just my parents, the ones I planned on visiting after this shit, gone! Completely fine! It's not like I absolutely fucking loved them! Gone! Dead! Completely fucking fine with me!" Her burst of anger carried on when she stormed out and slammed the door. She completely snapped when a male her height approached her with the question,"What's gotten into you, Blackjack?" in which Aries responded by pinning him to a wall and yelling into his face,"Don't EVER call me that, you wanker loving asshole!!"

Aries had stormed away, into her room. Out of complete rage, she smashed her phone and chucked it onto an active training ground below. It didn't take but a few minutes before Jack and Gabriel quickly entered her room. Gabriel grabbed the girl by the shoulders, slightly shaking her. "Soldier, are you out of your goddamn mind!? What was THAT!?' Gabriel bellowed, and almost immediately, Aries broke down. Her head hung, and the hot tears fell from her eyes. It was the same feeling she had from a month ago, that Monday shower. The where she cried, and later that day, was taken to the base.

The girl had quickly wrapped her arms around Gabriel's torso, crying into his chest. All the commander did was rub her head, knowing that he couldn't do nothing. Jack had silently crossed his arms, smirking at the other commander. Gabriel knew he was gonna get it later... Despite this, they stayed and comforted the soldier for a while. After they stayed for about 5 minutes, everything had calmed down. The commanders left, and Aries sat on her bed, with nothing to do. The girl honestly preferreder nothing to do, at the moment, as she just wanted to mourn for a little while.

/Three Weeks Forward/

Aries had taken her time to mourn. Of course, she would never be fully over it, but she pushed aside her feelings for a moment. Today, everything was serious, for today, she would be fighting. At this time in her life, this war was called the 'Omnic Crisis.' This was going to be the most important fight her life, even if she didn't know it yet.

A feeling rose from the pits of her stomach, though it wasn't nerve... Rather, it was excitement, and a slight bloodlust. There would be no blood from the enemy soldiers, only brainless buckets of bolts. Suddenly, she was pulled from her thoughts. The aircraft's door opened, and one by one, the soldiers stepped out. They all dived, and when they reached a certain point, pulled open their parachute. And before Aries knew it, she was diving down to the battlefield.
