||The Day It Happened||

Another day at school, another return home afterwards. Aries had gotten a text from her mother on her walk home.

"Get home. Now. This is urgent."

Aries did not respond. Instead, the girl gripped the phone in her hands, and ran. If Aries' mother said something was urgent, she meant it. Minutes later, Aries returned home from another day at school. The door burst open as Aries ran inside, finding her mother and father on the couch. Her mother, crying, held a letter. Aries' father held Amber close.

"Mum? Is something wrong..?  You're..." Aries reached out to her mother and father. Her milk-chocolate skin was drenched in sweat, her freckled face hot, and her dark brown curls were a flying mess. Aries dropped her bag, looking to her father. His dark skin was tight, his muscles apparent due to his stress. Her mother's figure was trembling, her fair skin even paler than usual. The paper her mother held dropped from her trembling hands, falling gently to the floor.

The girl came over, swooping the paper into her hands. Aries noticed how crumpled the paper was. Though, the print was italicized and the background was a symbol that Aries notably recognized. The symbol of Overwatch.

"Overwatch.. Draft notice!? I'm going to war!?"

Amber sobbed even harder now, and Orion fought the tears that built into his eyes. Aries clutched the paper, tears falling down her freckled cheeks. The girl's purple eyes built a wall of tears, the white turning a swollen red as she cried. She then fell to her knees, doubling over, her head close to the ground. Her mother and father came to the ground, holding onto one another. The girl had three days before she would be picked up and brought to the base.

Later That Night

Dinner was... Quiet. At least, for the Crawford family. Aries ate everything on her plate, out of complete stress and depression. Friday night... The girl would leave Monday morning, and would probable never see her family again.

Aries stood, leaving her parents to sit at the table by themselves. She left to her room, quickly laying on her bed. It didn't take long before she told everyone she knew, telling all of her social media. The bio to every social media she had was changed to 'I've made a mistake... Goodbye.' With that, Aries called with as many of her friends as possible. They all cried, and she cried with them. They spent as much time as possible talking, and planned to come over the next morning. They all planned to stay until the day that Aries had to leave.

Hours passed, and they all said their final goodbyes for the night. It was a weekend, and they all planned to stay with her the entire time she had left in King's Row. It was very early the next morning, when Aries finally decided to rest. At that point, she had cried herself to sleep. As hard as it was to sleep, Aries knew she had to serve her world. With that, she prepared as much as possible. This was going to change Aries Crawford permanently, and everyone knew it. This all started because of some stupid teenage dream.
