The days turned to weeks, weeks to months. The war felt as if it would never end... It was an ever burning hell for the girl. By the end of the war, Aries had already turned 17. Many days of blood, screaming, gunshots, and ever traumatic events. It was finally the end, and the soldiers returned to their original HQ by aircraft. It had been the worst time of their lives. Most soldiers, including Aries, had developed post traumatic stress disorder.

The girl had many explosion and bullet scars on the lower half of her face. There was a long scar on her back, one on her left leg, and one on her right side. Due to the many scars, she always tried to cover up. Aries wore a mask over the bottom half of her face, the half masks with a bear mouth on them. It was the only thing she could use to cover her face. Today was a day where her and the other soldiers got time to relax with one another.

In her room, Aries was on a laptop that Jack had provided for her. At least... When he was presumed alive. It was said that Jack Morrison and Gabriel Reyes had gone missing and died during the war. To Aries, she was devastated. It was almost something she couldn't stand to hear, at points. For now, the girl contacted friends and reached out to people she once knew. Aries felt like she should share her experience with her closer friends... Even if everything was extremely traumatic.

The British Lieutenant entered Aries' room with a slight knock. "Ah.. Hello, Lieutenant Oxton. Is everything well?" The British teen looked to Lena. Both of their eyes were filled with quite a bit of... Sorrow. Though, a glint of happiness was attempted. "At ease, love. I just stopped by to check up on ya." Lena sat next to Aries on her bed.. The silence that grew thick in the air basically suffocated both persons.

"Everything is just fine. I am missing the commanders, on the other hand... How are you doing with that?" Aries quietly returned to the question. They chatted and vented for a while before Lena had to leave. Yet again, Aries was left with her lone thoughts... She was just confused. How did the strike commanders even die? Weren't they master class? Her thoughts flooded, and she didn't notice the holographic screen in front of her.

"Dismissed from... Duty? Home...? But I've nowhere to go... Maybe with Elizabeth..." Aries spoke out loud, then noticed as a fellow soldier entered the room. "Hey, Blackjack... Were you dismissed from duty, too? We get to go home!" Ever so slightly, Aries visibly cringed at the name. Still, she nodded at the other. Most people weren't dismissed, and were kept to be retrained from rookie rank... Damn was she lucky.

Decision set in stone, Aries took her laptop and uniform home with her. Oddly enough, she chose to ride the bus back to her home. As it entered the city, she noticed how King's Row had... Changed. So much hateful graffiti, homeless people... Was this even her real hometown anymore? The Brit couldn't believe it, but did try to understand it. In all honesty, she had grown more attached to Omnics, and that of the Omnic race. This was her home, and so she dealt with finally being home...

{5 Years Later}

Aries was living in her own home, aged 22. It had been a lazy day, since her energy did not want to keep up with her. A vibration was felt from her watch, and a hologram popped up from it. It was... Winston? From her original Overwatch team? The message went on and on about how the world had to be saved. "But... Overwatch is banned... We can't just.." Aries thought out loud to herself.

The message had ended, and immediately, options appeared before her on the holographic screen. 'Are you in?' is what the words read. It took a few minutes of thought, but Aries did press the green button... Overwatch was back up and running. Little did she know that this would be the last time she would be referred to as 'Blackjack.'

{And there it is! The beginning and end of Blackjack! Don't worry, though. Because what if I told you there was gonna be a sequel?}
