8 - Uriah

"Yeah, I think it is." Jenna said beginning to bounce up and down from the cake and excitement of seeing our long lost childhood friend.

Jenna and I walked over to where he was and he saw us. Immediately he pulled us into a huge hug.

The three of us laughed as we hugged and then let go of each other.

We all went to go sit at a table and catch up. Jenna and I learned that Uriah had a mate and one pup. He was a top warrior in his pack.

Jenna and I were both happily chatting with him when we all heard a thundering growl.

We turned our heads to see Vincent stalking towards us.

Uriah looked like he was going to get mauled so I told him to run. He happily obliged.

Vincent took his seat and looked me in the eyes.

"What were you doing with him? His scent is all over you!" He said angrily.

"Relax, its just my childhood friend that I haven't gotten to see since we were ten." I say casually.

"Why were you touching him?" Vincent asks his eyes turning black and he was dangerously close to shifting.

"I hugged him." I say.

"Why?" Vincent pushes.

"I haven't seen him since we were ten. It's been six years. So the three of us hugged." I explained as I ate my cake.

Damn that cake is good.

"We will be leaving in twenty minutes Diana." Vincent announced.

I nodded and turned to Jenna as he walked off to announce the end of the meeting.

I saw that her beautiful blue eyes has turned dull and sad. They filled with unshed tears that threatened to spill over.

Jenna was the strongest person I know though so I know that she'd never show weakness. But today she did.

"You'll visit right Didi? You just have to." Jenna sobbed as she ate her cake faster.

I know she's going to crash when she gets home.

"Of course I'll visit. I could never stay away! Just think of it like when my father was Gamma. That'll make it more bearable for the both of us." I said shakily.

Jenna nodded and hugged me. A traitorous tear slipped from my eye which I quickly wiped away.
