I pace back and forth.

Do you know what I hate about waiting? It's the time that you get to think. During this time I've been waiting for Jack to arrive I've got to put so much in my mind. I've got to think about Ron, about Reese, about Lucy. Specially Lucy. I grew up with her basically, I've known her since she was very little. My mom used to treat her big sister. I can still remember the time we used to spend together on the waiting room at my mom's clinic. We used to play with out barbies and talk about the Disney Channel's shows. She was a sweet girl. Now, at the age of seventeen, she's a mom. That's something I'll probably never get over with.

As time went by, and we got older, Lucy went a different path in life. As in, she started to get involved with different people, different adventures. We ended up separating ourselves. We would cross on the hallways, she would be beside her group of friends and I beside mine. The only time we actually got to talk again was at Sidney's birthday party, where I introduced her to Ron. That's a day I'll probably regret for the rest of my life.

I also pitty Reese. Being a father at this age was most definitelly not in his plans. However, I only thought I knew him well. The Reese I once knew would never do that to someone, let alone his best friend. Turns out I don't actually know him. It's like he is now a complete stranger to me.

When I hear the door bell I smile in relief. I was glad that I would finally be able to forget all this and, I don't know, maybe have fun. Depends on how tonight goes.

I take a deep breath and open the front door. Revealing a very nice looking Jack Gilinsky.

"Hello." I say smiling.

"Hello." He replies.

"Ready to go?" I ask.

He extends his arms directing outside.

"Before you." He says.

I smile and leave my house. Jack following me right after closing the door. We walk side by side to his car.

"You look absolutely beautiful, by the way." He whispers in my ear, as his arm wraps itself around my waist. I feel chills down my spine.

I smile and look at him. "Thank you. You don't look so bad yourself." I say. Actually, scratch that, he looks amazing.

He opens the passenger's seat door for me and I get in. After he climbs on his side we start driving with the sound of a slow song playing on the background.

"So where are we going?" I ask, breaking the quiet, yet surprisingly not unconformable atmosphere.

"A nice place not too far from here." He says. He doesn't look too nervous, that's something I always like to notice on my dates. I like when guys look nervous, though a confident one is even better in my opinion.

We make small talks along the way. He has already made me laugh and we're not even at the restaurant. I love his humor, it's really charming.

When we arrive, he opens the door, again, for me and holds my hand, helping me to get out of the car. I look at him while he is pulling me up and smile. He smiles back. I'm pretty sure my heart is melting right now.

He guides me inside this small, yet lovely restaurant. I like how cozy and warm it feels inside. The waiters quickly moved around the tables carrying trays of dishes as we approach the hostess, who welcomed us with a wide and polite smile.

"Table for two?" Jack says. His hand is gently rested on my back.

He hostess throws another smile at us and points at the rest of the room. "Follow me please."
