"Hilda.. you've been out on the deck all night." You groaned from your shared bed. Well. The bed you would be sharing if the person who was supposed to be in it was actually in it.
It was currently 2 in the morning. Hilda was out with her telescope adjusting it as she pleased. A sudden gasp came from her, one that indicated that you weren't going to get any sleep tonight.
You felt pleading eyes gaze over onto your sleepy frame, "C'mere, I just wanna show you somethin'! My, it's gorgeous." She spoke in awe.
With that tone, it was easy to be jealous of whatever she had her eyes set on. But it was 2 am. It was too early to be jealous of some inanimate object.
Pulling yourself out of bed, already having a bad case of bed hair from all your tossing and turning, a groggy, sleepy you sat down next to Hilda outside. She hadn't even noticed you, her eyes were still on the telescope.
Your arms snaked around her waist. You leaned up against her shoulder. Thankfully you couldn't see her current expression, despite the dazed look she had from looking up at the night sky.
"Look into the tele for me?" She pleaded.
You did as told. She sat anxiously, awaiting your reaction.
There was Ursa Major, up in the night sky, in correlation with the Big Dipper. Frankly, you'd never seen a constellation so pretty before. To an extent, this was your first time even seeing and recognizing a constellation. It was indeed as beautiful as she claimed it to be.
"Ursa Major, am I correct?"
"You remembered!"
Your dignity was rising. Of course you'd remembered her little lectures on stars every now and then. That was something she loved, and you happened to take note of it.
She did spend most of her days in the sky after all, whether it be metaphorically or literally.
"You thought I wouldn't?" You pondered aloud.
"Well.. not everyone pays attention to detail. But you've proven me wrong." She gave a half-hearted grin.
"It's the little things that keep me most interested in you." You admitted. "Not to say that the bigger picture doesn't, but still.."
Even in the dark of the night, one could see the rosy red color that had blossomed onto her cheeks like bright red roses. It was cute to say the least.
She looked up at the sky with stars in her eyes. "What else do you see up there?"
"Am I allowed to be cheesy?"
"...Go for it dear."
"My love for you."
The stars in the sky were scattered across the darkened navy blue canvas that was the night. They seemed to endlessly shine about in an array of different sizes, shapes.. even colors at some point.
Smiling was inevitable for her at this point. "That was extremely cheesy, but I am somehow.. amused?"
"Of course you are! You love the stars don't you?"
"Indeed I do."
"So then you love me too."
"Well.. you're definitely not wrong."
