On a day in which you only wished to wallow in the silence of your home and the mystery within your book (Sherlock Holmes), you had the smallest thought that it would only be interrupted by someone or something. When you lived with a clown who practically bathed in having your eyes on him, you knew that today would not be the quiet and peaceful one that you had wanted it to be. A calm day with Beppi the Clown? Such a thing was highly unrealistic.

"Whatcha readin'?"

Oh look, he had already made his presence known. As hard as it was to keep your mouth shut and ignore his words, you relentlessly stayed quiet, pretending that you were much more interested in the book itself than your clown of a boyfriend. It was cruel, yes. But the book was without a doubt what had been holding your interest for quite a bit. Sooner or later eyes went back to scanning the book, as Beppi looked over your shoulder with a bitter frown.

He crawled over the couch, flopping onto his back end next to you, leaning onto your clothed shoulder. Beppi's eyes bored into the side of your figure while you continued to read into the mystery in which Sherlock would be soon uncovering- Eyes widened in a bit of shock, and your lips softly parted in the release of a gasp. The clown sitting next to you was not amused, for one of the first times in a long time. He was actually quite irritated, almost seemingly envious of the book between your hands.

God he wished that were him.

The two-toned fool slid underneath your arms in the attempt to get you to hold him. He was literally begging for the attention that you refused to give him! What was so interesting about this book? Was he not just as amusing, if not more? Beppi became rather huffy, and you could see it within your peripheral vision. Some would have considered it annoying... Having someone so clingy and desperate for attention. But if you were to come to terms with how you felt, it was actually quite adorable.

The way he never broke eye contact with you while his mouth had secured its place in a small pout, the way his arms crossed whilst he was in your lap, the tiny huffs he made every so often... All just to get your attention. You couldn't pay attention to the book even if you tried. Though... it wouldn't hurt if you continued to tease just a little bit more, would it?

You closed the book, having left a finger in between the pages you were going to continue reading, and finally made eye contact with your boyfriend. A few measly seconds of eye contact had him blushing, and he didn't know why. Maybe it was because it was so unexpected after you refused to even look at him for the five minutes prior. Beppi looked away in a sort of childish manner, eliciting a small giggle from you.

"Beppi," You shook your head in disapproval of his mannerisms, "what is it that you want dearest?"

"Your attention of course." The clown inflated his cheeks.

He sat upright on your lap, legs resting on either side of your waist. He still had that glint in his eyes, like he wanted something more but refused to ask for it. Beppi was oddly good at imitating other personalities, and as of now, he took on more of a tsundere type persona... Which you truly didn't mind, since you were the only one to get him to crack under the pressure of keeping up such a facade.

Leaning in closer, bumping his nose the first time around (to which you both held back a snort or two), you tempted him with your lessening proximity. One could hear his fragile heart speed up in rhythm, and he anticipated what was to come next. When he got shy you normally were the one to initiate things, and this time around Beppi was all for it. He had been waiting all day for your touch, a glance, a small peck to the lips- anything!

He was starving.. he had lacked too much of you in recent hours.

But that hunger he had for you was never fulfilled by the one he wished it from the most. For they had gone back to reading the book that he had momentarily distracted them from. He whined in disappointment, stretching out his small top hat and covering his face in it for a few seconds. Within those few seconds, he had let out a small scream of frustration, one that not even you could hear.

The two-toned clown put the hat back on, only to smile at you.

He could tell there was a devilish, deviant like smirk that you hid behind the cover of the novel. He snatched the book from your hands, physically expressing that he was sick of you and your bullshit games. Beppi was the only one allowed to play games here, that wasn't your job at all. Before you could even respond to his quick movements, he'd hushed you in a quick kiss, one that he felt would leave you wanting more. Of course it would. Who could resist something like that from a trickster like Beppi?

He leaned in again, much like how you had earlier. But the contact you were hoping for never came.. and he sat there, grinning like the idiot he was, eyebrows raised in amusement and a look of conceited happiness causing you to pretty much melt beneath him. All you wanted to do was read your book, in peace..

But what you got instead were relentless distractions from your one and only clown... Sad to say, you never got to find out the ending of your book thanks to him.
