Your Boyfriend of 1 year, Luke, was on tour and you were skyping. It was a week before his 18th birthday and it was almost midnight where he was. He seemed different today though.
“Babe you ok?”
“Kat, we were performing today and I froze.”
“Oh honey, I'm so sorry. Don't worry most people have their days.”
“I know. But I swore I saw you Kat, I swore I saw you in the audience. I waved but It wasn't you. I miss you so bad Kat. It's been so long. I need you here with me.” Luke looked down he couldn't meet your eyes. Silent, slow tears fell in his lap.
“Luke, baby, I love you, and I miss you more than anything and I need your arms around me. But keep singing babe, because I'll see you before you know it.”
“I wish you could be here for my birthday”
“I know hun I'm sorry I wish I was too.”
“Luke please get off skype with Kat. It's not healthy. Your whipped!” Calum groans from his bed.
“I better go. Love you babe.”
“Love you too babe good luck tomorrow.”
You both hang up and you instantly jump onto the EA Airline website and found a ticket to the city where Luke will be in a week for his birthday. You book an economy ticket from Sydney all the way to Paris. The perfect place to be in for Luke's birthday. You text Ashton, Calum and Mikey and plan to surprise during the concert and those three promised to organise everything in Paris, and keep it a secret. It was perfect. Before you left you bought a lock and decorated it with your extensive collection of sharpies. On the front you wrote Kat and Luke in french with a shimmery black sharpie. You packed in the front pocket of your satchel.

You sat on the plane, in between a squirmy four year old and a snoring old man. It was 20 minutes until landing, so you listened to your 5SOS playlist, focusing on Luke's voice, remembering the times he would sing these songs to you as he strummed his guitar. You thoughts were interrupted by the pilot over the intercom;
“Could all passengers and stewards prepare for landing. Thank you for flying with EA airlines.”
The 7 hour plane trip ended and you walk groggily to baggage claim, through customs and out into the bright sunny taxi bay. You take your cracked IPhone out of airplane mode and you get 5 texts.
4 from Luke:
'Hey babe xx hope you slept well'
'hey babe got a show today boys say they have a surprise planned for me. Any thoughts ;)'
'Kat have you forgotten me?”
'KAT! TEXT ME ALREADY I MISS U HAVE YOU DIED?'
You smile to yourself and read your other text from Calum:
'hey hey Kat. Jut letting you know we have security to pick u up from airport. They will be waiting at the east terminal :)'
You turn on your heels and search for a sign for the east terminal. As you walk in the sunshine you smile to yourself. It's been 2 months since you saw Luke last and you were finally going to get to be in his arms again. You find the security guard and he explains that he's taking you to the hotel to get changed and then straight to the concert. You listen and try not to laugh at how serious he looks.
You get changed into a dress that fades from white to dark purple. It came to just above your knees. You put on black ballet flats and pinned your wavy brown hair with a black jewelled flower. You put on the silver necklace that Luke gave you on New Years Eve. It was a guitar pick with music notes engraved into it. You take a couple selfies take a deep breath and walk to the lobby. The Guard smiles and greets you. He escorts you to the car then contacts the stage manager and tell her your on your way.
A quick 20 minutes later, you stroll backstage towards the stage manager.
“Darling! Hello! How was your trip? Luke's been down all day because you haven't texted him!” She laughs lightly.
“Take a seat over here. You have about two songs before the boys start on Luke's birthday. That's when they are going to bring you on. At the end of the second song, could you perhaps run around to the left front wing? That's where Luke will see you. Ashton's going to introduce you a the birthday surprise ok?”
“yay! Sounds good!” you smile as you take a seat on the yellow plastic chairs that line the wall.
The boys perform, End up here and Luke's favourite; Don't Stop. Towards the end of Don't stop, you stroll around the back of the stage, adjust your clip and smooth down your dress. Mikey stands closest to you and he smiles as he looks over at you. You give a gentle wave before the boys start to bag Luke out for his birthday.
“So as you all know it's Luke's b'day today!” Calum starts.
“Woooo! Happy Birthday little bro!” Ashton screams pumping his drumsticks in the arm.
“So anyway we wanted to give you something. Bring out the Surprise!!!” Ashton woops.
You take a deep breath and smile and you take the microphone and say
“hey Luke!”
“Kat! Kat! Your here” Luke walks over to you and picks you up, spins you around. He sets you down and kisses you on your lips. You kiss again and again. Everything fades away. Until finally you break apart. The crowd cheers and the boys commentate. Luke pulls you into a tight hug and breathes into your ear;
“Your my world. And every song for the rest of the night I will sing for you. I love you gorgeous. Tomorrow you and I are going to go sightseeing.”
“I would love that. And I love you. I got a lock for us. I was wondering if we could put it on the love lock bridge.” you say pulling apart from him
“I would adore that, kitty Kat.” Luke says holding your hands.
You laugh and say;
“you should probably get back to your concert. Love you.”
“Love you too Kat!” Luke yells as you wave and walk off stage.
You run off stage and Text Luke;
“love you babe. I'll be in your hotel room xx”
By the time Luke gets back, you've dozed off on his bed. You feel light kisses on you nose as you wake up.
“Hey babe, I missed you.” Luke breaks his kisses for a second, before he continues on his lips.
“hey, I missed you too. It's like 12 o'clock can we just cuddle.” you say kissing Luke back.
“Sure.” Luke says as he pulls the covers over you and you snuggle deep into his strong chest and you fall asleep with his muscular arm wrapped around you and your hands intertwined.
