"Stop right there," a voice calls out from behind, catching me off guard. I turn around and see...

"Jolee..." I murmur under my breath. "W-What are you doing here?!"

"I strongly suggest you abandon your efforts to thwart President Wills and Team Ater," Jolee announces, her honey hair blowing in the wind.

"What do you mean by that?"

"With President Wills as president, we can improve American society! All the other countries are more advanced that us. It's only natural that we should improve ourselves too in all ways and if I can help them by killing the President's Most Wanted, I can get loads of money from that. Just think of all the makeup and clothes I can buy! Such a wonderful thought, wouldn't you agree?"

"Jolee...did you...you wouldn't..." I gasp. Whatever happened to the sweet Jolee I always knew?

"Yes, you guessed correctly! I have defected...to Team Ater!" Jolee smirks. It's only then that I notice a black headband in her hair. I shake my head.

"Jolee, how could you?! I trusted you, and you---!"

"Our friendship ended the minute you killed Bradley, Jojo. It is I, his secret admirer, who will avenge his death. Don't worry, I'll make sure it goes by really quick,"

"Over my dead body," I get into my fighting stance. Suddenly, we lunge towards each other. I start punching her in the most vulnerable places. However, to my surprise, she blocks all of my attacks. Luckily, I punch an open spot in her body, which is on her arm. I clench my teeth. When did Jolee get this strong?

"Did she get her?" I hear Raine question.

"No," Joseph answers.

"That girl is one hell of a fighter," Mason interjects. "For a Team Ater newbie, she's really good,"

Seeing my chance, I shove Jolee away from me, causing her to stumble back. I can do this. I don't want to hurt Jolee, but I will if I have to.

"You can do this, Jojo!" Joseph cheers.

"What kind of friend just goes off and betrays their closest allies?" Raine says disapprovingly.

"Someone hell bent on revenge, I assume," Joseph answers. All of a sudden, Jolee hits me in the mouth, causing me to cough. She might've knocked out a few teeth.

"Jolee!" I cry.

"No!" Joseph shouts as I begin coughing up blood.

"This is all you've got?" Jolee raises her eyebrows.

"Get up, Jojo!" Joseph screams at the top of his lungs. Not yet...this is not where my story ends. In order to proceed, I must defeat the foe in front of me. Now, it's my former best friend, Jolee.

I prepare to strike Jolee in the chest, but she dodges and grabs my arm. I clench my teeth even more as a wicked smile creeps its way onto Jolee's face. Her eyes are full of rage. Revenge.

"You can't get me," she sneers as she pushes me away. I collapse on the floor.

"Jolee..." I murmur under my breath.

"The moment you decided to engage in combat with me, your defeat was inevitable. Give up!"

My bones are aching, my stomach wants to fall out of my butt, and I've got blood spilling from my mouth. No! I won't give in! Not until I've achieved what I've come here to do.

"I...never...give up...because I am a fighter," I manage to get back on my feet as I keep panting.

"Whoa, look at that! She's got guts," Joseph compliments.

"She kinda reminds me of you, Joseph," Mason states.

"Yeah...I think you and Jojo have a lot in common," Raine interjects.

"Come at me, bitch!" Jolee spits out the words like how one would spit out a bug. I was always used to hearing her call other girls bitches, but never me. So hearing her call me that surprised me.

I start another coughing fit, blood spilling from my mouth.

"The look in Jolee's eyes...kinda scares me," Anthony mumbles.

"Don't worry, everyone. I can tend to Jojo," Alessandra ejaculates.

"Her level of strength...it's impressive. This isn't a fair fight. Jojo hasn't had as much fighting experience as her, apparently," Raine states. As far as I'm concerned, Jolee's never taken martial arts or self-defense classes. How is it possible that she can push me to my limit?

"Hang in there, Jojo!" Joseph yells. Joseph...he is a survivor. If he can give Sidney a good workout...I don't see why I can't do the same to Jolee, even though we're not friends anymore. When I watched Joseph fight Sidney, that got me all pumped up. That made me feel like I can conquer anything. I attempt to jab Jolee, but I stumble before I could reach her.

All of a sudden, I felt a sharp pain in my jaw. More blood oozes from my mouth. I start another coughing fit before I could manage to give Jolee a death stare. I dash towards Jolee, full power in my fist. Jolee dodges and suddenly, I get the urge to throw up more blood. I fall flat on my face.

"Don't you know when to quit? From the start, your attacks have been completely ineffective," Jolee taunts.

"Jojo can't even stand," Paul mumbles under his breath.

"Leave her alone!" Joseph shouts as Jolee walks over to me, gun in hand.

"It's no use, Joseph. Team Ater is notorious for being merciless towards their foes," Raine explains as I manage to regain my strength. I get back on my feet, holding my rib cage in pain.

"You really wanna die?" Jolee sneers. No. Not yet. Once again, this is not where it ends for me. I don't want to, but I have to defeat Jolee---my best friend in the whole wide world.

"This isn't over yet!" I yell.

"You're not fooling anyone. You're clearly in critical condition. I can see it in the way you stand. I'll be nice and make this quick and easy," Jolee readies her gun.

"You're blind to everything that's going on, Jolee. You're blind with rage and revenge will do no good to anyone. Grey was killed by President Wills. The LGBT community is outraged at this. Things don't have to be this way. Come with me and we can change society together," I outstretch my hand. Jolee ignores me and dashes towards me when all of a sudden...

"I never thought you could be that merciless, Jolee," a voice calls out. Christian and Nicole arrive on the scene and halt in front of me.

"Go on, Jojo. We'll take care of her," Nicole whispers in my ear. I get up and dash off towards the White House with Joseph and the other members of Team Ruber.

I can't believe Jolee just went out and betrayed me by joining Team Ater. I gotta give her credit. She's one hell of a fighter, even though I don't remember her taking martial arts. But enough dwelling on that. I have other things to worry about...like President Wills and the bounty on my head.
