The moment the black sack is removed from my head, I find myself face to face with President Wills inside the Oval Office. He looks like a corporate villain, to be honest, with most of his golden hair slicked back and a white suit that's probably worth a couple grand. His disparaging smile is enough to send chills down my spine.
"You said you wanted to talk to him," Sidney hisses in my ear as he brings me to my knees.
"Make this worth my time, Jojo Pullman. I don't like it when my time is wasted," President Wills tapped his finger on the desk.
"Why do you encourage these white supremacist rallies? Isn't America a melting pot? Without diversity, life is boring. Diversity enhances our life. You get to meet people who are different than you. Different is good,"
"The world needs to know that Caucasians are the master race. We must force our life upon others,"
"That's racist,"
"I'd choose your next words carefully," Sidney holds a gun to my head. I gasp.
"Where was I? Oh, right, diversity. If we're exposed to different types of people, like African Americans, Muslims, and gay people, we become more understanding and empathetic. That way, we can make the world a better place,"
"Bullshit, bullshit, bullshit! I don't like your idea of making the world a better place. We need to kill off these people who are not like us, for there will be peace,"
"Peace?! That's the exact opposite of peace! There will be civil unrest if you do that! You would be killing innocent people! I witnessed Sidney kill a black man. He was unarmed! You think there will be peace?"
"One less headache for the country to put up with," President Wills rests his head on his hand.
"I agree," Sidney huffs. His mouth reeks of cigarettes.
"And what of Grey and Joseph? When Grey was president, he and Joseph worked endlessly to ensure that the LGBT community got the respect they deserved."
"Not those two," President Wills groans. "They deviated from Daniel Evans' vision of a peaceful society,"
"Good for them!" I shout. All this time, I've been trying to keep my cool, but I have a feeling it won't last for much longer. All these things I'm hearing make me sick. I had no idea President Wills would be this bad. Could he be the next Adolf Hitler? Unfortunately...probably.
"Excuse me?"
"Your idea of a peaceful society is the most fucked up thing I've ever heard! How could you think like that?! You know what I think?! You're basically America's Adolf Hitler!"
"Enough! Take her away to the maximum security prison!" President Wills points at me. I gasp as two hand clench my arms and drag me away.
"It doesn't have to be this way! Heed my words, President! We can make this a utopia!" I yell.
"I'm afraid your idea of a utopia coincides with ours, Jojo." Sidney sneers. "Plus, I do believe your Team Ruber friends are coming,"
"Trevan is coming? How can you tell?"
"I saw them on the security camera. Rescuing you would be a fool's errand, I fear, without knowing how the maximum security prison operates. You can watch as we slay them one by one,"
"This can't be! No!" I scream as I am dragged out of the room.
