It Just... Came Out

Oliver's POV

Holy frick.

That's about all I have to say about that. I can't wait to tell my sis-... do I want to tell anyone about this? I don't know. The only people I've come out to are Amber, Aliya, and Celeste, and I didn't plan on coming out to anyone else, especially my family. That is, until today.

"Hey kiddo! How was your day?" My dad yells as I walk in the door. I find him in the kitchen eating peanut butter out of the jar.

"Amazing" I reply looking in the cabinet for something to eat. I settle for some cheez-its.

"What made today so 'amazing'?"

"I went on a date" I blurt our. Wow, am I the biggest idiot? My dad gags on the peanut butter for a second, and then smiles.

"So who is this special lady?"

"Well actually..." I hesitate, "it's not a girl..." I AM THE BIGGEST IDIOT!

My dad gags again, and then just falls silent.

"Aren't you gonna say anything?" I ask.

He just smiles and says the simplest three words ever; "I love you". He comes over and hugs me, tears starting to come out of his eyes.

He wipes his eyes and gets serious. "So, who is he?" Do I really want to tell him? I guess I don't have much to lose at this point. Apparently I've spent too much time contemplating because my dad just starts talking.

"Ya know what, it doesn't matter who it is, as long as you're happy, I'm happy." YES! MY DAD HAS OFFICIALLY ACCEPTED ME. I hug him again and then he tells me to go do my homework. Typical dad. Be doesn't do emotions much. Except for today apparently.

I lay down on my bed, and just stare at the ceiling. Yes, I am that boring. Today has been a pretty great freaking day.
