Ashton's POV
Amber is great. We get off at her bus stop, and I see her house. It's freaking huge. The outside is a light beige, with white trim around the windows. There's a towering pine tree in the front yard, from which a tree swing hangs (I love tree swings by the way). On the front patio, there's one of those benches that's kind of like a rocking chair (I love those too).
"You're house is amazing." I state, still staring in amazement.
"Thanks." She blushes. "My parents probably won't be home until later tonight, so it'll just be you, me, and my little brother."
"I didn't know you have a brother."
"Yeah, he's 10, and annoying as heck."
She opens the deep brown door, and the inside is even more beautiful than the outside. It opens up to a white entryway, which has two doors, and an arch. Yes, you heard me right, an arch. Past the arch is a staircase, and behind one of the doors is an office, which I'm not allowed in. Apparently no one is except Ambers dad. I don't know.
Behind the other door is the kitchen with a formal dining room. The kitchen is huge. It has black marble countertops, an island with the same countertops, and one of the dishwashers that looks like a cabinet. Sitting at the island is a boy with dirty blonde hair, green eyes, and a T-shirt that says "you can't spell awesome without me". Stupid Nike shirts.
"Hey Zach!"Amber waves to the boy.
"Hi." He says, not looking up from the paper he's writing on.
"Whatcha workin on?"
"Math." He replies matter of factly
"He's not much of a talker." She whispers to me.
She opens up one of the many kitchen cabinets, and grabs a bag of tortilla chips, and gestures for me to follow her. She leads me upstairs, and down the hall, to the farthest door.
"This is the guest room, or your room for the time being."
"Cool, thanks." I reply. She tells me to put my stuff down, and to "get situated", and that she'll meet me downstairs. She leaves the tortilla chips on the bed.
