Alec's POV

I woke up without a nightmare for the first time in weeks. I sighed when I still felt Clary wrapped in my arms. "Well Sleeping Beauty has finally woken up from her slumber." I hear Clary say.

"How long have you been awake?" I ask her not bothering to move from my very comfortable place on the bed.

"About an hour. You had your arms wrapped so tightly around me that if I tried to get up I would wake you up, and you looked like you needed the sleep."

"I'm sorry." I might be sorry that I didn't let her get up, but there was no way I was letting her go with the fear she may never come back.

She must have realized that I was not going to let her go because she said, "Are you going to let me go or am I going to have to pry myself from this bed?"

"I'm really comfortable," I faked a yawn and continued, "so I think I am just going to go back to sleep." I pretend to fall back to sleep. She started trying to pull her way out of the bed but I was a lot stronger than her so pulling was doing nothing.

"Alec we really have to get going. Izzy came in earlier wondering where you were. I asked her to take care of Olivia because I could not get out of the bed. She also saw the way you are holding me and got very confused, I think she thinks we are together." She tried to push her way out again and it did nothing. "So we really should get going."

"Why?"

"I have to get Olivia, and you have work that needs to be done. Alec, come on."

"Why? I'm the head of this institute and as far as I'm concerned we don't need to be anywhere for the next three hours when I have that meeting. Also Olivia is with Izzy so we don't need to worry about that."

"Alec!" She laughed. Finally, she stopped moving and rested her hand over my hand interlocking our fingers. "Five more minutes."

"YES!" I exclaimed. I pulled her closer to me and held her tighter than before.

After about five minutes she started to move again but this time I was not prepared. When I grabbed her wrist it was to late. Her hand slipped and she fell. Although, she wasn't expecting me to grab her like that and she lost her balance and fell and hit her head on the edge of the nightstand. When she hit the floor I was already out of the bed trying to help her. "Clary." I say putting my shaky hands on either side of her face. However, she didn't wake up. She didn't even move. "Clary!" I say again louder. She had blood coming from where she hit her head, and the thought that I was the one that did that to her made me feel overwhelming guilt. "CLARY!" I screamed. I had enough of not doing anything. I picked her up bridal style and walked to the infirmary. Laying her gently on one of the beds that are there. I see Izzy run in with Olivia in her arms. I did care though, I didn't even look at her. I was to busy trying to wake up Clary. When I gave up on trying to wake her up myself I did something that I would only do in an emergency. I turned to Izzy and yelled, "Call Magnus!"

When Magnus walked into the room I looked up at him and said, "Please, you have to help. She hit her head and now she isn't waking up."

"Stand back." Was all he said before he started to use his magic. Izzy walked over to me and grabbed my hand pulling me out of the room.

"What are you doing? She could be in there dying, I need to be there." I yelled.

"I am trying to give him space so he can help her." She replied.
