Clary walked out of the bathroom
To come face to face with her mom. "Are you ok?" Jocelyn asked, "yeah mom" she said brushing her moms hand away like a seven year old. "I'm fine, morning sickness, you know" she said shrugging which made her mom give her an apologetic smile. "You ready for today?" She said, Clary gulped, she hadn't been able to bring herself to tell her mom about Sebastian's disgusting secret, she knew she had to before the meeting but now wasn't the time. "Yeah" she said slowly as she slipped by her mom and looked at the clock. "Mom it's half five, can't i go back to bed" she groaned loudly. "No" she said bluntly as she pushed Clary towards the door. "Spend the morning with someone else" she said smiling a little viciously and Clary sighed, she was pretty sure she knew what her mom was going to be getting up to and she hoped her bed stayed clean out of it. With a sigh she walked towards the room she had found the other night, the arts room.
Clary got totally lost in her drawing, it was one of the outside glamoured training area that her and Jace had been using to train her in hand to hand combat, it was the beginning of fall and the leaves were elegantly dancing back and forth across the canvas, the sky was a vibrant pink to red as an early sunset rose from the east, it was one of the best things she had painted, but it didn't seem right. Not without her family in it. She put down the paintbrush and swung round. The next thing she knew she nearly jumped right out of her skin, she swore rather loudly and covered her mouth with her hands. She heard Jace laugh as he got closer to her. "I knew i'd find you in here" he said with a suppressed laugh, "ass hole" she said as she pushed him back slightly, "i nearly had a heart attack" she said panting slightly as she moved her hands away from herself and shook them. "Thats beautiful" he said ignoring her former comment and moving himself towards her painting, he run his fingers along the canvas until he reached the end, he was speechless the entire time. "Wow" he said as he spun to face her. "You should come in here more often" he said smiling at her sweetly, "i would if it wasn't for annoying husbands demanding attention" she said as she picked up the canvas and tucked it behind the draw. Jace made a huffing noise in the background, "Jace herondale does not demand" he looked her up and down, "how can i not want attention when your stood in front of me in really sexy pj's and we are not in the same room to sleep?" He asked longingly, Clary looked down at herself, she was wearing a pale blue camisole and black shorts, that came just above her thigh. " well you shouldn't of scared the shit out if me then should you?" And as an after thought added. "What time is it?" He looked at her surprisingly. "What time did you come in ?"he asked. As though he didn't know, he had probably been watching her paint for hours. "About five, why?" She asked a little innocently, he laughed slightly, "it's half twelve" he said checking his watch.shit, Clary thought, she had been in here for seven hours and to be fair it only seemed like one hour to her, "have you told Jocelyn?" Jace asked and Clary spun around so she didn't have to look him in the eye, "i'm working on it" she said with a sigh. And she felt arms around her waist. "It's fine" Jace whispered into her ear. "No it's not" Clary said leaning back into him, she felt a sharp prick in her leg and reached down, she felt the object in Jace's pocket and pulled it out before he could object, she smiled immediately, it was the print out of their baby girl, "i was thinking charlotte?" Jace said smiling down at her. "I love it" Clary said, she didn't really care what it was called, it was her baby girl, and no one could change that. "Come on" Jace said pulling her away from the canvas and towards the door. " we can tell her together" he said as he opened the door, "and give that back" he said as he grabbed the picture back, she was surprised that he had let her hold it for that long, usually he didn't let anyone touch it, they could only look with their eyes, and usually even then it was too much for him. She smiled knowing that she was one of the only people that could get inside his head, and she loved it.
