Keith looked around for an extra few minutes at everyone. Hunk and Shiro were already fast asleep, Pidge about to be there, and Lance just getting settled in. Keith pulled the cover over himself and lied back, staring up at the lights softly flowing through the blanket's translucent material.
His eyes widened all of a sudden.
"Hey Lance...I didn't realize it before but the blanket has little planets on it..." He whispered, a sense of sleepiness in his voice. Anyone could've told the difference between a fully awake Keith's words and one who was just getting sleepy.
"...hm.." He hummed, trying to figure out what planets they might've been. They definitely weren't apart of earth's solar system. He was only assuming it was Altea's.
He glanced over at the other boy to make sure he was still awake before turning over in his side. It didn't seem weird at the time that he was facing him. If anything, he likes it.
Lance snorted a little as a soft smile spread across his face, while he listened to Keith's sleepy self talk. It was adorable how innocent and pure he sounded when he was tired, and how it contradicted how Keith normally acted. Looking up at the blanket above them, half asleep as he looked at the planets. Some of them had several rings around them.
Turning his head towards Keith he smiled at him tiredly, and it took him a minute for his tired brain to process how close they were. He made no move to scoot away and luckily for him it was to dark to see the slightly pink blush coating his cheeks. "I guess it's not to bad if we got stuck here, I mean there's two Lance's in the same Castle which is awesome," he commented and yawned a little.
Keith's eyes were half open and tired, dark bags under them. He blinked a few times.
"Heh...of course you think its awesome.." He muttered sarcastically, rolling his eyes .
"How do you feel about being half blind?" He asked suddenly, his hand laying next to his own pillow and twitching slightly.
Lance turned onto his side to fully look at Keith since they were talking. "I guess it's kinda peaceful.. the lights are really nice too," he commented while he watched Keith's hand twitch for a bit and came close to reaching up and holding it, but restrained from doing so. Instead he shifted his gaze back up to Keith's face and how his soft black hair swayed to the side a little.
Keith's eyes began to slowly close but he forced them open again to look at Lance in the dark lighting. It was so quiet he could hear Shiro breathing from where he was sleeping. Hunk's snoring could be heard whether it was quiet or not and Pidge was a silent sleeper.
Keith wanted to get closer to Lance. Then again, he knew that was just his sleep conscious speaking to him. And I'm some ways he wanted to listen to it.
So he did.
He tried to scoot a little closer to Lance without making it seem like he was at all. It took a while before he finally got tired of inching closer in centimeters. He sat up for a moment and sighed, running his fingers through his long black bangs. As much as he wanted to sleep, he couldn't.
Lance's eyes felt heavy, and he had a hard time keeping them open as the sounds of the others' snoring was killing him to sleep. He was just starting to feel Keith's warmth as he got closer when Keith sat up.
Opening his eyes he looked up at Keith and couldn't help but mentally note how pretty Keith looked pulling his hair back. Of course he blamed his thoughts on being tired. "Aren't you going to sleep?" He asked while reaching up so Keith couldn't get up and leave.
Keith turned his head to look over at Lance. "Yeah, I'm just...I don't know..a lot on my mind, I guess.." He said quietly before slowly laying back down. He curled up inside of his blanket, one hand under his own pillow. He began to close his eyes slowly but he forced them awake again to make sure Lance went to sleep before him.
"I think we all have a lot on our mind, we'll just have to prepare for the next bullet that comes at us. We're a team, we'll get home..." he stated as a sour feeling turned in his gut as he realized now he really might not see his family ever again. Even though he considered the fellow paladins a second family, he still missed his real family.
Laying his head comfortably on his pillow he gave Keith a soft smile, "maybe we can try out their training deck tomorrow..." he mumbled. Wanting to spend more time with Keith, and maybe work their way to being friends. Soon falling asleep and snoring softly against his pillow.
Keith didn't even have time to respond before Lance fell asleep. He knew he was right.
He couldn't help but notice how cute he was when he slept. He was trying to push himself not to think of weird things. He really wanted to kiss him. He wanted to kiss him really really bad.... He was asleep after all and as long as Keith didn't tell him he would never know.
/Okay..just one, small one. / he told himself before leaning towards Lance, hesitating to make sure he was actually asleep. The trick was to check the person's eyelashes to make sure they weren't moving, but it was too dark to see them. He was just hoping for the best.
He leaned in a gently placed a small kiss on Lance's head. It was so comforting that he wanted to do it again.
/no! You told yourself you'd only do one!/ He thought before lying back down and watching Lance snore for a while before finally falling asleep himself.
