[Justin's POV]
My heart was palpitating and I felt my veins throbbing. My eyes reflected a sense of disquietude as my fingers trembled in trepidation. I pressed my palm against the wound, but the blood didn't cease to surge: it was like a dormant volcano that had been eagerly waiting to erupt, as soon as Irvine's bullet aggravated the wound once more.
Shit...I can't stand...
I was paralysed in this life-or-death situation, rendered completely helpless without a gun.
"You're so naïve, boy," Irvine chortled, his disgusting smile as irksome as ever.
"No," a voice called, "go to hell, Irvine..."
The sound of several gunshots reverberated through the air, and Irvine's body collapsed onto the floor in a pool of blood.
"Scumbag," Gwen muttered under her breath as she transformed her M249 back into a tiny Rubix cube.
"Justin! Hang in there!" Her voice was slowly dying away as I was losing consciousness. I heard the sound of her footsteps sprinting back and forth in the house. Just what on earth was she doing?
The last thing I felt before I knocked out was her putting my VR headset on.
Eregor? Now?
I was instantly transported to Siege's new infirmary in the Secret Hideout which Kei had moved our stuff to. Natasha was ready to operate on me using her 'new age technology'.
"This supercomputer is programmed to be 1000% more precise than humans and I'll make sure you get the best medicine for a speedy path to recovery, Sir Kyungii."
Kyungii?
It felt so odd to be called Kyungii again. It had been awhile since anyone had called me that...especially Gwen.
I felt so lethargic. As soon as Natasha administered the anaesthetic to me, I slipped into a coma.
Was I dreaming now? Wow. I never imagined being able to dream in Eregor apart from reality.
Where was I? A cell? I don't think I've ever been here before...
I got up, the dim light flickering in the cell sending chills down my spine. It all felt so surreal.
