Earlier, Elaine had wandered off to another side of the building and Gwen was nagging at her incessantly to stick together with the rest of the gang.
But for once, her disobedience supposedly paid off.
Mr. Hills was forcing them to get on their feet while standing precariously near the edge of the rooftop. Elaine watched silently, her breathing was light, and an almost inaudible whisper escaped her lips as she spoke over the communicator.
"Turn around, now..."
Elaine swung into action, rapidly firing arrows at the unsuspecting men who were unaware that they had been ambushed. Mr. Hills bolted for the exit and escaped, while the rest of her arrows had pierced almost a dozen bodies, leaving the roof scattered with corpses and blood.
Three men escaped: Mr. Hills, and two of his most well-trained men. The rest were defeated.
"I must say, your aiming has improved remarkably since you were a child..." Justin nodded in approval and gave Elaine an encouraging smile.
"Well, I didn't train for nought," She rolled her eyes. "You guys could've been in serious trouble if not for my idea to wander off..."
"That doesn't work all the time, Elaine," Gwen shrugged, "you were lucky on this one."
But now, Mr. Hills was on the loose. Probably making his way to one of the groups in charge of protecting Daniel.
Robin got down beside Elaine and steadied his AWM near the ledge. "There's a group at 10 O'clock, 3 O'clock and 6 O'clock. Get loaded guys. We've got some firing to do."
"Whenever you're ready, bro," Justin smiled superciliously, as he pulled out his AUG.
With the kinetic suits, it made their manoeuvring a lot easier and Robin and Justin took off, jumping off the building and landing right where the enemies were. The sound of bullets ricocheting in the air was like music to their ears.
One team down, four to go.
"Glen, how long more?" Elaine questioned over the communicator.
