Ok so change of plans. I've decided to do the Sokeefe Story now because I can't get inspiration for anything else. I don't know when I'll do the other two Sophie ships but they will happen. AND DO NOT FREAK OUT! This IS a Sokeefe story. (You'll understand why I said that once you read the story.)
Keefe POV
Keefe Sencen was strolling down the hallways of Foxfire, he was just turning the corner to one of the hallways when a blonde figure crashed into him.
"Whoa! There are less literal ways to fall for me, you know that Foster?"
Sophie Foster was standing in front of him, trying to regain balance from their collision. Once she steadied herself and calmed down he got hit with a wave of Foster giddiness.
"Okay, since I'm assuming you aren't that happy to have cause yourself injury what exactly is making you look like your about to barf sparkly alicorn poop? Well, I mean other than beholding my good looks."
Sophie rolled her eyes. "I hate empaths. You guys are waaay to nosy for my liking," but she was smiling as she spoke.
"Ooooh is it a secret?! What is it? Did you break something again? Is the school about to explode? Wait- ARE THEY GOING TO EXPEL BANKS BOY?????"
"No, to all of them," she laughed. "But if you must know..." her voice trailed off. "Fitz just asked me out!"
Sophie was jumping up and down with delight as a sickening feeling took over Keefe's stomach and he put a hand on the wall to steady himself as he slid on to the floor. He was immediately consumed by self loathing. Of course Fitz had asked her out. It was only a matter of time. But he, Keefe wasn't brave enough to tell the one girl he cared about more than anyone in the world how he felt.
"Oh my god, Keefe are you okay?" asked Sophie, suddenly alarmed. She slid down on the floor next to him "Should we get you to the Healing Center? You could've eaten something during lunch."
He sat there for a moment staring at the opposite wall in shock. Why did Fitz have to be so perfect? Why did Keeffe have to be the one with the baggage, with the past? The boy who made a mistake with every turn?
"Keefe I'm going to get Elwin," Sophie said. Though her voice sounded far away.
"Wait don't!" he yelled at her.
"Keefe you really should-" he cut her off.
"This isn't something Elwin can fix Foster, though you do look cute when you're worried."
He smacked himself. "I'm sorry Sophie this isn't a joke," the queasy feeling returned. "There's something I need to tell you. I know we promised no more secrets between each other, but this is one I couldn't tell you. And now even if I do, it will probably be too late."
A crease between Sophie's eyebrows appeared, and her emotions hit him with a mixture of anger and apprehension.
"Look, I promise this doesn't change our mission in any way!" he clarified. "This is something a bit more...personal," the last word came out as a whisper.
A little bit of relief that this wasn't something that would destroy their chances against the Neverseen mixed in with her emotions. "So what is it?"
"Do you remember what I told you on our first big mission together? When we took Silveny to get your powers healed by the Black Swan? How I said I just hid behind the jokes, but I was actually really cared a lot?"
"Yeah," she smiled. "Later you told me that was the first time you really felt me trust you."
He nodded. "Well I still mean that. Whenever I tell you I think you're cute- I mean that. Whenever I tell you that I think you're smart, or funny, or brave- I really mean that. Whenever I say that I know you're special- I mean it with all of my heart. Sophie, I've liked you since you first spoke to me, that day you were going to the Healing Center when you hurt your hand in alchemy. You didn't fall right over me like all the other girls in the school. You talked to me like a normal person, instead of giggling between words and trying to flirt with me. I have to tell you, it was a very welcome change. And even if you don't like me back, even if you hate me now I just wanted you to know before it really was too late. Remember, no matter what, I will always support you and be your friend, I don't care what happens. You won't lose me. Ever."
Her eyes welled up with tears of emotion. She hit him with thousands of waves of feelings at once. But the strongest emotion of all: relief. Relief that she wouldn't lose him. That he wouldn't hate her no matter what the outcome. Relief that he would always be there. But confusion and conflict were close seconds.
"Keefe, I-I don't know what to say," she stuttered. "I'm too conflicted, I don't know what to do!"
He pulled her in close as the tears started to flow. "Listen Foster, I can read your emotions- but only the ones in your head, not the ones in your heart. You'll have to listen to your heart emotions to figure this one out. I trust you will come to the right conclusion. You're the Great Sophie Foster, you can do anything."
She gently pulled out of his arms and smiled at him. "This definitely changes things. I need some time to think. Plus, I think I might need to hail Fitz and have a bit of a talk with him. But thank you for telling me Keefe. It really means a lot and it might save me from a bad mistake."
She waved farewell and headed over to the Leapmaster to go home.
Alright, I'm going to make this into a two part story just to compartmentalize it. Since otherwise this could get really long and possibly boring (Part 1 is over 1,000 words). I'm going to see if I have the willpower to update it tonight (it's really late where I am). But if not, I'll do it tomorrow morning. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and don't forget to vote and comment!
