Chapter Nine: That's where I've seen your face
My jaw dropped. Yes, definitely taking the job if he even asks me.
He stopped chewing and dropped his fork on his tray. Like he doesn't even say hello either.
"Dee, are you being serious?" Dylan nodded his head happily.
I was starting to get sick of his bullshit of constantly ignoring me. I did absolutely nothing, never known the guy till now.
"Well, actually I need like a right-hand man and she is perfect," he was looking back and forth between us two, "she punches like a dude but is fine as hell. Both good qualities don't you reckon."
I punched his arm shaking my head at him.
He seemed to be taking into consideration what Dee was saying or maybe he was just really enjoying his food.
"Come on Chace you know none of the other workers can keep up, she'll be more of an asset if anything," he continued eating so Dylan continued talking, "a trial run if she isn't good, which I hardly doubt then it's a no go."
I watched and waited for his answer. He picked at his bracelet that looked somewhat familiar. He seemed to realize what I had been looking at and he quickly shoved it under his jumper. I don't know I've seen it somewhere.
"One chance, Jenkins. One chance."
Dylan hi-fived me as the bell rang signalling one more class then he'll take me through the basics which I am actually excited about. We exchanged numbers and decided he'd come and pick me up later on this afternoon. Hopefully this works in my favor Dee mentioned that it gets pretty packed especially at the end of weekends.
I was excited when I got home that I was all fidgety walking around the house. I decided to comb my hair and just fix myself up a bit as Dylan would be here soon. This was my first job and I was pumped.
Knock knock
I yelled a quick 'come in' as the door opened revealing an exhausted looking Ant.
"Hey, where you heading?"
He flopped down onto my bed onto his stomach propped up by his elbows. I laughed at how he looked like some teenage girl at a sleepover party.
"Wassup, hitter. I have a job, trial thing at Chace's bar tonight."
"A what at who's bar?" I saw the look on his face through the mirror.
"Chace, that guy that you know, it's more of a club I think."
He shook his head. "I know, I just didn't think you needed a job." When I didn't respond he continued.
"It gets pretty wild there, Summ. Just be careful and I'll be having a word to whoever is knocking at our door right now."
I groaned. I wasn't expecting him to go all over-protective big brother on me, I just hope he doesn't scare the dude. We headed downstairs as Ant made sure he was the one to open the door.
"Yes?" Count on him to be snobby.
Dylan looked skeptical, wondering if he was at the right house. "Is Summer here?"
"You are?" I stood at the bottom of the steps watching as Ant had his arms crossed.
"Dylan, I'm a friend of Summer's. I'm sure she's informed you."
His voice sounded annoyed but shaky like he just wanted to get out here.
"What are your intentions with my sister?" Okay I think that's enough. I pulled Ant's hand off the door.
