Chapter 15: Back Home

(Jaiden's P.O.V)

When I finally got home from VidCon, I was so exhausted. I was to the point to where everything was funny for no reason. So, I figured that after I unpack, I can sleep for a while.

While being away for so long without being able to visit [Y/N], I began to feel more and more upset with myself for going. I mean, I was really happy to see all of my fans, but [Y/N] and I just started talking before I left, and I didn't bother to try and take her with me so we could catch up on the past three months.

What am I saying? She would've had to buy a ticket ahead of time, and I doubt she even had time, due to her two jobs. Plus, if she had come with me, I'd have to call my mom or dad to take care of Ari, and even though my mom loves him, I don't want to bother them. They're busy too.

Anyways, when I finally unpacked all of my bags, I made sure my front door was locked before I collapsed on my bed. I sighed in relief when my head hit my pillow. It's good to be home. I figured that I'd work on my next video, but....nah. I need a day to relax and get my brain working again. So that's what I'm doing.

Just as I was about to doze off, my phone buzzes; I tiredly pick it up and read the notification. Oh. It's just from [Y/N].

Wait.

It's [Y/N]! What am I doing?! I promised we'd hang out when I get back!

[Y/N]: Hey Jaiden. You're back from VidCon, right?

I smile.

Jaiden: Yeah. Thanks for taking care of Ari for me by the way.

[Y/N]: It was no problem. You know how much I love the little guy. He's a brat, sure, but that's what makes Ari who he is.

I chuckle softly at her comment on Ari, and sigh.

Jaiden: Haha. Yeah.

Jaiden: Anyways, I'm fixing to catch up on my sleep. Do you want to come hang out afterwards?

[Y/N]: Well, I'd love to. But...

[Y/N]: I have another idea for when you wake up.

Jaiden: Oh? And what would that be?

[Y/N]: Well...

[Y/N]: I was wondering if you'd like to go on a second date with me?

My face turns red, and my tired eyes widen. She wants to go on a second date?! Yes!! I have another chance!! I compose myself after a while before I'm finally able to respond.

Jaiden: Yeah! Of course. Well...as long as Adam and James aren't there. Don't want to lose you for another three months again.

When I re-read my text, I mentally facepalm. "Don't want to lose you?" Seriously?? I made it sound like we broke up or something; I mean, sure, [Y/N] probably knows what I meant, she's a smart girl, but seriously brain? You couldn't think of anything else?

[Y/N]: Haha. Yeah. I don't want to lose you either. I'd go insane.

My face heats up again; did she....

(Your P.O.V)

My god; Jaiden is the cutest thing ever. Especially when she gets all anxious about the smallest things. It's so adorable. Call me weird for finding that attractive, but hey. What do you expect? No one's perfect. Of course, that's not the only thing that I find attractive about Jaiden. Some other things I like about her? She's artistic, imaginative, she's naturally very beautiful, she's a nerd about a lot of things, she's kind, sweet, caring, loving, she's—it'll take too long to list everything I love about her. I would, but she replied to my text.

Jaiden: So...

Jaiden: When is the date?

Oh yeah. Should've told her that.

[Y/N]: Well, I suppose tomorrow night will work. That way you can get settled again.

Jaiden: Oh. Let me see if I have any plans.

Jaiden: Just kidding. I don't have an actual job.

[Y/N]: Haha. Good one. But isn't your animating career technically an at-home job?

Jaiden: Well, I suppose it is, but I'm talking about jobs that you have to travel for. You know. For meetings and stuff.

[Y/N]: Ah. Okay. I get what you mean now.

Jaiden: Yeah.

Jaiden: So.....what time?

[Y/N]: ???

Jaiden: For the date?

[Y/N]: Oh! Right. Well I was thinking at [f/r] again at 7:30pm. You know. Like our first date? But hopefully we'll still be talking afterwards.

Jaiden: Okay. We can't let Adam and James find out this time though.

[Y/N]: Haha. Agreed.

Jaiden: Well, I'll see you tomorrow. I'm gonna go to sleep now.

[Y/N]: Alright. Bye Jaiden.

Jaiden: Goodbye [Y/N].

(Jaiden's P.O.V)

Ohmygodohmygodohmygodohmygodohmygodohmygodohmygod, Igetanotherfrigginchancewith[Y/N]tomorrownightholycowImightgoinsaaaaaane!

Okay, okay. Calm down. Think this through. [Y/N] and I started talking again, we're getting along just as well as we used to, and now she's asking me on a second date. The dare is tomorrow night at her favorite restaurant, and it's at 7:30pm. Okay. So, since we're trying the exact same thing as last time, I can just wear the same outfit, right? We can just act like this is our first date, and try not to screw it up.

I check to make sure the dress is in my closet; and luckily, it is.

After everything processes trough my brain, I find it hard to fall asleep. I don't even feel tired anymore. It's like I've been energized by just the thought alone that I might be able to finally admit all of my feelings to [Y/N]. After countless minutes, I find myself taking a deep, long breath, before sighing happily.

"I can't wait for tomorrow."
