Actually, . . . . . . . . . . . means later, but if it's . . . . . . . . . . . with a name below it it means i'm changing a point of view. I'm gonna be switching back and forth in pov (s) a lot in this chapter.

                                                                Astrid

Astrid woke with a start. The sun was just about to climb above the land, and the sky was stained with a rather nice shade of purple and orange.

Still groggy, she sat up, rubbing her eyes. Something didn't seem right. A second later, she grabbed her axe and bolted down the stairs.

"Stormfly?" she called. Normally her dragon would answer with a squawk and start scaping the door, but today was silent. Oh no. Suspicion rising with jolt of dread, Astrid stepped outside and ran to Stormfly's shed. Nothing. Her dragon was gone. The saddle and most of the chicken was too.

"I should've seen it coming!" she said and bolted to Hiccup's hut, throwing open the door just as she heard Hiccup ask his dad, "Have you seen the Book of Dragons anywhere?"

"She's gone!" Astrid shouted as the early sunlight poured into the room.

"Who, Heather?" Hiccup asked.

"No, STORMFLY! she snarled. "Little-miss-innocent stole my DRAGON!"

Finally the realization hit on Hiccup's face as he knew Astrid had been telling the truth all along.

                                                   . . . . . . . . . . . . .

                                                          Heather

Heather yelped as Stormfly's wing beats started to get even more irregular, threatening to throw her from the dragon's back.

"Whoa! Easy, girl," she said, leaning into the dragon as Stormfly's spikes just jabbed right over her head.

Stormfly obediently glided for a moment, giving Heather a second to rest without the threat of a spine through the eye. She sighed and held onto the saddle harder as the wind tugged and pulled at the dragon's wings and tail, forcing her to keep flapping against the breeze. Stormfly squawked and faltered midflight, tail waving for balance as a particularly strong gust shoved the stolen Nadder and traitorous rider backwards.

Heather huffed tiredly and glanced backwards to see if the Dragon Riders had caught up to her yet. The sky was clear and purplish orange, speckled with thin cirrus clouds that were rapidly disappearing as the sun started to rise above the horizon. Nothing in sight--so far.

The dark haired girl turned back towards the distant island of the Outcasts. She was so close

It almost startled her how near she was; if she could just get the book and Stormfly to the Outcasts before the Dragon Riders found they were missing, and if the Outcasts kept their word, her parents could be freed and her family would be safe. She sighed. Stormfly chuffed again and dipped her wings down. The Nadder sailed towards the ocean as Heather winced, shivering.

Oh, what Astrid would do if she catches me, Heather thought. Outcast island was slowly getting closer. Heather tossed another piece of chicken to Stormfly and the dragon quickly snapped it up, humming with joy. The Nadder started flapping again, speeding along the wind and fighting against it. The water below spin dizzyingly, and Heather scrunched her eyes close and held on hard to Stormfly, fighting the sickness away. It had been that way with Toothless the first time, when she was dehydrated and tired.
