Chapter 10

Omniscient

The days went by so fast and finally, TWICE had their comeback. It's their second week of promotions already. They went to different variety shows to promote their mini-album and they've been receiving wins from different music shows already.

They are currently waiting for the results for today's Inkigayo, standing infront of the other groups battling with another group. The result finally appeared, showing TWICE garnering higher score. Their fans applaud as TWICE received the trophy.

Dahyun was standing there, just staring at their fans who have big smiles on their faces. It is something that calms her heavy heart for weeks now. She's still anxious about the call she shared with Jimin. They all finished their speeches and it's time for encore. The other groups went down the stage after bowing to other groups.

Dahyun then turned around only to see a smiling Jimin, bowing to other artists.

Fake. She thought. Feeling heavy to see the one he admires faking smiles to deceive other people, just like what she adviced.

Her world seemed to stop when their gaze met, for the first time ever, since the day she debuted. Her heart pounds so fast that she thought it will burst out of her chest. Jimin gave a small smile and bowed that she panickly returned. She wanted to lock gazes with him longer but he turned his back already, leaving Dahyun a blushing mess.

Then she saw Jungkook who gave her two thumbs up and mouthed congratulations. She tried to give the widest smile she can but Jungkook noticed that there's really something wrong.

Dahyun and Jungkook became really close. They talk often through chats and calls and Jungkook is aware that there's something wrong because it is evident with the girl's voice everytime they talk on call.

Coincidentally, Jimin is acting the same way, but Jimin seems to be totally devastated. Unlike the usual Jimin who would always joke around and laugh a lot, he's been sulking for weeks already, drowning himself in practices, skipping meals causing him to lose weight and become even more skinny. They tried to talk to him for it really bothers them but he will only fake a smile and say that everything is fine even though, obviously, it is not.

Jungkook had been suspecting that it is about Seulgi since they all noticed that Jimin isn't receiving calls and doesn't use his phone as often as before. They are just waiting for him to open up when he's ready to let it all out already.

Jungkook smiled again at Dahyun before going down the stage. They just had their comeback and he's really happy that their promotions overlap with TWICE's, even just for a week.

I'll try my best to meet her later. And I'll make sure to cheer her up and see her genuine smile again. Jungkook smiled widely at that thought.

After they finish their encore stage, they went straight to their respective waiting room.

Dahyun immediately dropped her body on the couch as she heaved a sigh. Chaeyoung sat beside her and stare at her. Dahyun turned her gaze at the latter, with creased brows.

"Why?" Dahyun asked confusely.

"Are you still not ready to tell us what's bothering you?" She asked worriedly as she placed her hand on top of Dahyun's.

Dahyun averted her gaze and a small sad smile appeared on her lips.

"Let's just say that something precious for me, something that i can't have, had been wasted by someone and I can't even do a thing about it." She said while staring at nowhere.

"Like when Mina eonni accidentally dropped your choco pie?" Tzuyu who has been listening all those times asked naively.

Dahyun released a chuckle. "Can be."

The girls changed their clothes ready to go back to their dorm already.

"How many minutes before the arrival of the van?" Dahyun asked to Nayeon.

"Hmmm," Nayeon then checked her phone. "25 minutes?"

"Okay, thanks!" Dahyun said and went out of their waiting room in a snap.

"Yah! Kim Dahyun! Make sure to go back in time or you're dead!" Nayeon shouted, assuming that Dahyun will hear it.

Dahyun wore his mask and stroll around the company's building. It's somewhat her hobby, sneaking and going around the place. She actually have a special spot in every music show building, usually, an isolated one. She finds it refreshing after a suffocating day.

Usually, she'll just sat on her favorite place, listen to music, and went back before their service comes back. But today is different.

She saw a male's profile sitting in a lazy manner on her supposedly place to sit on. She squinted her eyes for the place was dark and she wasn't wearing her lenses. She already has a hunch on who it is because the body figure is familiar to her.

She's walking closer to the man when her phone rang. Jungkook is calling. She pressed tge answer button immediately and halted from her steps.

"Where are you? Are you still in the building?" Jungkook asked. He's currently roaming around searching for the girl's waiting room.

"I'm at some isolated place of the building right now." She continued her track. "I saw a man sitting. Seems like he needs help."

"Hey, Dahyun-ah. Be careful. Don't go near him. Wait for me. Tell me where are you right now." Jungkook said anxiously.

Despite the warning, Dahyun came near the man, the smell of alcohol immediately hits her nose.

"It's Jimin sunbae."
