The next day was Sunday, so the kids had the day off. After a while of doing absolutely nothing, they decided to go off and walk around town. So they did.
When they walked past the post office, Dipper stopped and nearly gagged. "What?" Quinn turned and saw. "Oh, Robbie."
The teen was just standing against the wall, with these huge headphones on and no expression on his face. "Let's go this way," Dipper said nervously. He and his sister was about to turn around when Quinn grabbed both of their hands and dragged them in the teen's direction. "Oh, no," she said. "You guys are ridiculous. You can find a way to walk past him without a confrontation."
"No, we can't." Mabel said, worried.
She sighed. "If he says something, I'll talk to him."
And sure enough, he did. "Oh, hey wimp. Who's this girl holding your hand?"
"I'm Quinn." She said, surprising all three of them. She didn't let go of anyone's hand, either.
Robbie had to stop for a second. "What are you- his girlfriend?" He mocked.
She shrugged. "What if I am? What's wrong with me then?" Dipper blushed.
"Then, uh, you'd be dating a complete moron who talks about monsters and other weird stuff."
She rolled her eyes. "Okay, that subject may seem weird to you, but to us, it's pretty interesting and entertaining. And besides, Dipper's a pretty cool guy and any girl would be lucky to date him." No one had any idea how she wasn't embarrassed while saying this. "Now, if you excuse us, we will leave you to your weird music." Then she dragged them away, leaving Robbie wondering what just happened.
"Dude, Quinn," Mabel said when they were at a safe distance. "That was awesome. First Pacifica, now Robbie. How can you do that?"
She smiled at her and dropped their hands. "I get made fun of a lot and when it happens, I either join them or tell them otherwise. You get good at it after a while."
Dipper rubbed his arm. "Did you really mean that?"
She faced him. "Mean what?"
"Y'know, about how I'm a cool guy and anyone would be lucky to date me?"
She nodded. "Of course, why would I lie about that?"
"I-I don't know."
They continued walking, and during the majority of the time, Mabel gave him a really interesting smile. He didn't notice, obviously. He was too busy thinking about.... everything.
