He ran into the room and saw Gideon on his bed, staring out the window. "Gideon." He said.
Gideon looked at him as if expecting him. "Oh, Dipper Pines. I was wondering when you'd visit wittle ole me."
"Save it, Gideon." Dipper said. "Where is the journal?"
Gideon tried acting innocent. "I have no idea what you're talking about."
He rolled his eyes. "Yes, you do. Don't lie to me."
"I'm not. It's been out of my reach ever since they took me here."
He sighed. "Whatever, Gideon. You know something, I know you do."
The little boy thought about it. "Have you looked in Stanford's little cave?"
Dipper looked confused. "Cave? Stan? What are you talking about?"
"Oh, you didn't know? Your uncle is a liar. He's been looking for the books for years and once he did, he made something mighty out of them."
What? That sounds ridiculous. "And how would you know?"
"Because, he told me."
"Who told you?"
They looked each other dead in the eyes.
..........................
Quinn and Mabel looked around the Shack to find Waddles when they came across an old and disconnected soda machine in the corner of the lounge. "Do you think he went behind here?" Mabel asked.
Quinn thought about it. "I don't think so. It's pretty close to the wall. I don't think I could even fit."
"Well, we have to try." Mabel pleaded. "We looked everywhere else."
She sighed and adjusted her red shirt. "Okay, I pull and you push." Mabel nodded in agreement and they both wrapped their arms around the machine. "One, two, three." They pulled and pushed, but the machine wouldn't budge. Which was weird because Quinn used to be able to pull the soda machine at school a few inches. "Huh," she said, walking closer to the corner. "It kinda looks like it's a door."
"What are you talking about?" Mabel asked goofily standing closer to her.
She shrugged. "See, there's hinges right here, like a door." She counted them. "One, two, three. Just like a door." They walked to the front and inspected it. "Wait, I saw this in an episode once. Like, Stan came in here at night and pushed in a few numbers." She vaguely remembered the pattern and pushed them in. "And it opened and he slid right through it." She saw the numbers briefly. 1,3,4,4. Huh, she thought. That sounds familiar.
Then, the door opened and inside revealed a series of wooden steps. They just started, marveling in awe. "Wanna go down?" She asked, not looking at her friend.
Mabel smiled. "I would be honored."
