Later that day, Mabel walked into her room and saw Dipper on his bed reading the journal, just like Quinn was the other day. "Hey, Dip. What'cha doing?"
"Trying to find something that could help Quinn get home."
She narrowed her eyes. "Why would you want that? I thought you liked Quinn."
He turned the page. "I do, it's just that-"
She ran towards him and sat next to him on the bed. "I knew it," she squealed. "You do like her!"
He blushed, realizing his sister's trick. "Whatever. I do like her. I just promised her I'd find a way to get her home and that's what I'm going to do."
"But, why?" She seemed confused. "You like her, she likes you. You're just going to let her get away?"
"Yes, Mabel. Maybe because we live in two different dimensions!" He raised his voice slightly and she flinched. "I don't want her to go, but that's very selfish of me. The best thing to do is try to get her home so she's happy."
She shrugged. "Well, do you plan on telling her how you feel?"
He shook his head and turned the page. "Nope. It'd be completely useless. I promised to find a way back home, and that's what I plan to do."
She placed her head in her hands sadly. "Whatever floats your boat, chump." She sighed. "I don't think it's in there."
"What are you talking about?"
"You've been looking in there for days, and found nothing. Maybe it's in another journal." She suggested.
His eyes opened wide with excitement. "Of course," he said. "That makes sense now." He jumped up and hugged his sister. "My gosh, Mabel you're a genius!"
She grinned. "That's what they call me."
Suddenly, a voice popped out of nowhere. "Call you what?" They turned around and saw Quinn standing there in the doorway, smiling. "Oh, am I interrupting some brother-sister moment or something?"
They shook their heads. He walked up to her. "I think we came up with a way to get you home!"
Her smile then got smaller. "Really? How?"
He could barely hold in his excitement. "I can't say now, but I will be back." He then ran out of the room.
The girls just watched him run out. "What on Earth is he doing?" Quinn asked.
Mabel shrugged. "I have no idea." She looked at her and said, "Do you wanna look through Dipper's stuff?"
She grinned. "I would be honored."
...............................
Dipper ran into the juvenile detention hall and stopped at the front desk. "Hello," he greeted the receptionist. "I'm here to visit a patient."
She sighed. "What's your name, sir?"
"Dipper Pines."
She wrote in sharpie and gave him a nametag. "Who are you visiting?"
"Gideon Gleeful."
She started typing back on her computer. "Room 3N, enjoy your visit."
Oh, I will. He thought as he sped-walked into the corridor.
Meanwhile, the girls were looking through his stuff. His stuff wasn't really that interesting. Mabel found his journal (diary) a little while back, but Quinn refused to read it so Mabel didn't, either. Now, they were bored and while Quinn left to go to the bathroom, Mabel quickly flipped through his journal.
She found an entry from the day before. She read it. It was more like a letter than an entry. Her heart felt warm and fuzzy because of what he wrote about. She heard Quinn coming so she quickly ripped the page out, folded it and stuffed it in her pocket.
