Chapter Three: Very Well...

Today is my birthday!! ( July 17th)

~Marianna~

My phone dropped out of my hand.

I could barely breathe.

I started hyperventilating.

"ayy something wrong?" The boys said running upstairs

"Mari!" Hayes said kneeling in front of me.

"dude she's turning paler help her, Carter go get some water, and Cam go get a cold rag" Nash ordered.

My breaths became shorter.

Then everything went black...

~Hayes~

"Nash she's still out it been a hour! What to do?" I panicked

"she'll be okay she's just had a nervous breakdown-- here put this on her" he handed me the rag. I folded it and placed it on her forehead, still kneeled on the side of the bed.

"bro where's Cam and Carter?" I asked staring at her.

"I think they were in a meeting-- why are you staring at her like that" he smirked raising his eyebrows.

"what? I was not staring"

"you like her don't you?"

"well I--"

"what happened?" Mari said opening her eyes.

I propped a pillow up behind her so she could sit up.

"well you passed out" Nash blurted out

"so it wasn't a dream" she muttered

"what?" Nash and I asked simultaneously

She gasped, her eyes were puffy, "they're coming after me now"

Marianna paced around the room.

"hey what's wrong with you?" I asked getting up. She kept pacing back and forth. "Marianna!"

I pinned her against the wall by her wrist. "what's going on?" She closed her eyes and took a deep breath.

"Marianna, we'll keep you safe, what is it that you're scared of and who is coming for you"

She looked up at me and we stared at each other before she spoke.

"you know last night when you found me?"

"yeah..."

"well those guys were looking for me, because I ran away from them"

"how did you do that? After all they're--"

"dude... no" Nash shook his head.

She looked away, I could feel her chest moving up and down against my chest rapidly. "Mari calm down" I told her.

"those guys-- those guys worked for my exboyfriend"

"what?" I questioned, sitting her beside me on the bed. I held her hand.

"what do you mean by worked" Nash asked

"they worked for him, like he was their boss or something" she said. Nash and I exchanged looks.

"what's his name?" Carter said bursting in the room with Cameron.

"Dustin" she choked up.

"DUSTIN!?" we all said. Nash, Cameron and Carter rushed out the room.

"Hayes what's going on?" she trembled

I squeezed her hand looking into her light brown eyes "we're gonna keep you safe Mari" I pushed strands of her curly hair out of her face and put it behind her ear. I stood up and started to walk towards the door. She grabbed my hand.

"do you guys know Dustin?"

"very well"
