Chapter Eight: What... Is This?

"so what did they say?" Kylie asked over the phone.

"well Hayes, Matt, and Carter said they had something planned, but then Cam and Jack came in and said that since Dustin is still  searching for me I couldn't go anywhere" I sighed.

"awww its okay Mari, we can do something that day, and anyways I'll be over in a bit" then she hung up.

I walked out of my room and passed by Jack and Cameron. I didn't say anything to them I just continued walking down the stairs.

"Hello Marianna" Austin said.

"Hey" I quickly waved and he followed me in he kitchen.

"are to nervous around me?" he ask smirking.

"Don't flatter yourself... Austin right? Um I don't know you like that and you don't impress me"

"oh so you got jokes?"

"no" I grabbed my cup of lemonade and walk to open the door for Kylie.

"hey girl" she hugged me.

"Hey Kylie"

"I'm so sorry that you can't go anywhere on your birthday Mari"

"thank you, but I guess it's for my protection" I admitted.

"exactly!" Cameron said throwing me over his shoulder.

"Cameron put me down" I kicked my legs but he held them tighter. My lemonade spilled everywhere

"yeah Mari we're just trying to protect you-- you can't leave us" Jack said bending down to look at me.

"I agree" Hayes and Carter added in.

"you literally can't leave us" Matt said. Nash popped him on the head.

"put her down Cameron" Nash said. Cameron placed me in Hayes arms them Hayes sat me on the edge of he sofa and flashed a smile.

I am not a toy you throw around!

"come with me guys, stay with Kylie okay Mari?"

"okay, but when y'all come back we are gonna play an intense game of hide and seek" I demanded. They just nodded and walk upstairs.

Well this should be fun. We're children at heart.

About an hour later they came running down stairs.

"alright at your service" Matt laughed. "since you want to act like you're the queen" I pushed him.

"and to think we were gonna make an alliance"

"wait-- no mari I'm sorry"

"too late" I laughed "Cameron's it"

"let's start, go hide!" he laid on the sofa and started counting. I ran upstairs in the closet and hid under some towels.  He might find me easier though... I felt around and felt the door nob and slowly opened it.

Where the fuck am I?

It's like a whole different room full of books. I stepped further in the room and there was a wall full of pictures of..

Dustin.

I picked up a folder and skimmed through it. There were pictures of him with different people and different things.

I looked up at the wall of books. I leaned on the table and there was a book. It read,

"werewolf 101"

I flipped to the first page

Anger

When an Alpha or Beta of a pack gets angry their eyes change colors. Blue eyes are very rare so their eye color changes to dark brown; almost black. Any other color changes to yellow.

Jealously-

When a werewolf finds his mate the whole pack adapts to him/her, most of the time if the mate is a girl they treat her like royalty and will do anything to protect her, only if it's the mate of the Alpha or Beta.

Order

Usually The Alpha and Beta are bothers but some exceptions qualify for the son to be the Beta.

"whoa" I closed the book.

Why do they have so many were wolf books?

The boy started running up and down the halls. I walked toward the bookshelf and my eyes feel upon a piece of paper hanging on the wall. It was just a list.

Chad- Ex Alpha

Will-  Ex Beta

Elizabeth- Ex Luna

Sarah- Ex Female Beta

I turned around the corner and seen multiple trophies that read:

Annual werewolf family competition-1st place.

The book next to it was a family photo album.

I opened it and began to read...

"they'll never find me in here" I heard Hayes say. "what-- Mari what are you doing in here?" He asked nervously.

I slowly turned in my heels and spoke "what... is this?"
